INTRO

I'm getting a start at a very powerful Blue/Black Mill deck. I have always found milling to be an underrated strategy, so I want to make the ultimate deck to do precisely that...make an opponents deck reach 0 before they have a chance to kill me.

DECK WIN CONDITIONS

1) Mill the opponents library to 0 cards.

2) Use "Mill Ramped" Creatures such as Consuming Aberration and Wight of Precinct Six. (not sure if I want to make them unblockable using other cards or not...)

3) Drain their life by using [[Duskmantle Guildmage] + any other mill card.

EXPLANATION FOR ALL CARDS:

Lands:

Island+Swamp-Self Explanatory, amount of each matches the % of cards I need to cast with them

Watery Grave -Very useful as a turn 1 mana fix

Drowned Catacomb -A good turn 2 mana fix to go along with a basic land, and usually enters untapped turn 3+

One Drops:

Jace's Phantasm -Used will mill cards makes a 5/5 flyer, a very good attacker and blocker as quick as round 2 with Glimpse the Unthinkable.

Tome Scour -A turn one 5 mill is very powerful, and mid game it leaves mana open for the guild mage to combo 5 damage.

Memory Sluice -This deck is around 50% creatures, meaning at best it's a one mana 8 mill (maybe 12 xD) though it's still ok at 4 mill turn 1.

Two Drops:

Duskmantle Guildmage -Only really here as a mana sink and it's first ability. If used with mill spells it drains life fast, which is an effective win condition. I might want to use it with mind crank, but I'm not sure if I should add it in here, as it takes up a lot of card space for it to be any effective. I'm not sure.

Tidehollow Strix -I would be using Baleful Strix but of course it's banned, so I use this one. It's really effective at early game air attacks, but it's an even better blocker to put pressure on the opponents big attackers.

Wight of Precinct Six -A big creature for not much mana, this guy gets HUGE when milling properly. Him and Consuming Aberration have similar roles in the deck, but he's quicker to get out on the field.

Glimpse the Unthinkable -I consider this one of the most powerful low cost mill cards, as it tops both Breaking and Mind Sculpt It can get Jace's Phantasm to become a 5/5 turn 2 and with Duskmantle Guildmage It drains easily half the opponents life total.

Countersqaull (DDH) I feel this deck needs some good counter spells so I'm running 4 total, this with Psychic Strike . This card is good because a 2 mana non-creature counter means I can keep my creatures alive from kill spells and other annoying enchantments and deal some damage to them at the same time.

Three Drops:

Psychic Strike -This card (to go along with Countersquall ) is really good for a common. It's a 3 mana no exception counter spell, like Cancel but I can mill them 2 cards along with that, which is always a plus.

Pilfered Plans -Another very useful common in this deck, drawing is useful as mill spells deplete my hand very quickly. This is not only a Divination but my opponent mills 2 cards as well.

Mind Funeral -Another very effective mill card in the deck, consider that you would have to pay 6 mana for the same effect using Mind Grind . I have almost considered taking it out because of how good this card is, but it's better late game when I have 8+ mana, if the game lasts that long.

Four Drops:

Lazav, Dimir Mastermind -Although doesn't mill cards himself, he is very tough to get rid of, and can easily become the opponents strongest creature, once it goes to the graveyard.

Evil Twin -If your opponent has a very strong creature out that you just can't deal with, that's his job. Not only does he become that creature, he can kill it too.

AEtherize -Goblin decks are such a pain, and even faster decks can win against this one pretty quickly, so this is the solution to that problem. Not only does leaving 4 mana open make your opponent fear doing anything, but if they attack their army goes bye bye. It's only here to take care of heavy aggro decks and big creature problems, but still a really good card on it's own.

Five Drops:

Consuming Aberration -This is one of the centerpieces of the deck. Not only does it mill cards very quickly, it's almost always a lethal card whenever it's out. Should I add unblockable cards to the deck? I'm not sure if it's worth the 1 drop space...comment on this!

Nemesis of Reason -This card is extremely effective in every way. It's tough to get rid of, mills a heck lot of cards, and doesn't cost all that much!

Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker - Mirko Vosk is a card i'm iffy about actually playing, but I feel he's just good overall. He mills a lot of cards, flying in case of blocking, and fits the mana curve of the deck.

Traumatize -This card is one of the key elements in fast milling. Half of the library down, then Glimpse the Unthinkable and maybe something else and they are OUT OF CARDS.
