I play tested your deck with 3 of my own and the game was insane with the only players dying on the T12-13 cycle (Just Ramp and Dont Look Back won). During this game the only problem I found with the deck is the lack of card draw spells [4.5 ( Solemn Simulacrum being the .5)]. Early on this deck was dominate but even with Nekusar's Spellbook in the mix tesya ran out of cards in hand around T8-10, effectively knocking it out of the game. Normally I like to run closer to 10 card draw spells and agree Skullclamp would be great and probably Midnight Reaper as well.

Nice deck and congrats on #1 yesteday!

I disagree with the claim KibaAlpha is playing with and/or targeting a group of players the like big breast and that is why kiba named it as such. I personally do not care for breast and instead clicked on the decklist A.) I am building a Tesya deck myself B.) when I saw the name I first read it with emotions similar to Scathainn until a few seconds passed and I realized the cleverness of the name. Whenever something gives me that type of moment I'm instantly intrigued and amused. I believe most people on this decklist fall into the category of just admiring the thought put into the name rather than a want or need to be sexiest towards women.

Lol if you don't understand how daddy can be sexual I'll let you stay pure.

Side note: I am curious to see what the response would have been if this effect would have be printed on a male character and the deck name was the same? Would there be an outcry of people calling Alpha sexiest towards men? Would the name now be acceptable in yours and Scathainn eyes? Would people even care about the name? It is interesting to contemplate.

@Ares111123: I think you hit it on the nose. The title is not derogatory in any way. A tad suggestive maybe, but then you realize "ah, I get it!" While it's understandably not everyone's "cup of tea" so to speak, it's in no way offensive.

@chilbi: In regards to your statement about a "breast-enthusiastic audience" - There are better vices out there for that specific "need." We can assume just about everyone on this site plays this game (why else be one here?) meaning they appreciate a good strategy trading card game (whether it be for social or competitive environments is irrelevant). With that in mind, people love learning new synergies, combos, ideas, strategies, themes,....etc. All of that ties in with something clever someone came up with, or shares, that the community appreciates.

A deck name is no different. They are equally as clever and just as appreciative. It conveys a message on what the deck does while tying in a bit of personality from the decks creator. That's what makes each deck it's own.

Sure there are meta-specific deck lists & optimal builds that might do it better but people tweak those based on their own play styles & metas. The name hits home that 'you' built this, and 'you' want people to see it AND remember it. It needs to stand out, grab attention, while expressing a little of 'your' own personality.

I honestly have not seen that conveyed more on point with a deck name than I have with this (that's not to say there aren't any out there).

I understand part of being human beings is that not everyone shares the same thoughts, ideas, or tastes, and that's great! (The world would be boring otherwise) I do, however, believe anyone is capable of understanding and accepting that those differences exist.

No need to apologize. You didn't make it sound like suggestions should be ignored. I was tired when posting and that's my own poor choice of wording.

Thank you. I want to say more but I don't know what I can. The feedback you've given after playing my deck is great and I've made some changes accordingly. I've improved the ramp, changed the little card draw I had to more powerful card draw cards and up it's count to 6 for now.

Good Morning everyone + congrats on #1 to Kiba!

@ShikiTen: Couldn't have put it in better words concerning individual perception of reality, 100% agree. Still seeing the analogy though but that's - as you already stated - just my "cup of tea".

@Ares111123: Looked up urban dictionary, lol'ed indeed and changed the name right away. Would Teysa be a male character "he" probably wouldn't have boobs on him his gender gets reduced to more often then not in the public nowadays so no, I wouldn't have taken notice. "Teysa Karlov's big hard Double D" would have had me post the same stuff though.

Alltogether good exchange of arguments people. Proves that not every internet discussion has to result in verbal assault - cheers!

Beautiful card draw card from WotS coming that will fit perfectly in this deck, “God-Eternal Bontu”.

Sorry can’t seem to link to the image.

@Ares111123 @chilbi

Thank you for the congratulations. Appreciate it.

@Ares111123

If you don't mind I have a few questions regarding the results of the play test you did with my deck.

  1. Was being able to make my opponents sacrifice their creatures beneficial?

  2. Was their issues with ramping early game? I have added more but looking at it now I'm wondering if it's too much.

  3. What position did this deck finish during your play test?

@ everyone that was in the debate: major respect to all of you for being calm and collected throughout.

KibaAlpha

It's been a bit since the game so my memory is a little scattered (especially with all the crazy things happening during it). I do remember that your deck started off incredibly well and was actually the first "king" of the table. Because of this the deck was able to invest into an early led but after the "citizens" (other players not leading) rallied together to knock off the deck I found the deck was top decking every turn even with drawing 2-3 cards a turn. So long story short, the ramp was good and maybe a little too good for the board.

1.) Yes, it was actually very important as a board wipe was cast that would originally leave each player with 1 creature actually left you with one and the rest of the board empty due to Grave Pact. Even if this situation didnt occur turning your creatures into removal is always a very powerful effect.

3.) The deck finished 2nd-3rd. Nekusar's Spellbook placed everyone below 10 life except for Just Ramp and Dont Look Back due to the insane life gain in that deck. After that Nekusar got taken out due to spite. Then a board full of creatures was able to kill you and the remaining opponent in one combat phase.

Also God-Eternal Bontu in this deck is just...seriously, seriously, broken card draw.

Thank you, for recalling the play test as best you could. The info and answers were helpful and nice to hear. In my playgroup my decks don't usually ever earn the title "King of the Table". I must have finally done something right. Again, Thank you.

A suggestion, you might want to add a board wipe or two. For the reason of an opponent having a better board state than you but also to have multiple death effects trigger at once.

Thank you for your suggestions. At one point or another most of these cards were in the deck or considered.

I have sac outlets but chose not to include Phyrexian Altar or Ashnod's Altar to avoid infinite combos.

This deck was infinite at one point but became boring to play quickly and making Teysa irrelevant. I didn’t want that type of deck in the end and made the necessity changes to remove infinites from this build.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but Altar of Dementia , Yawgmoth, Thran Physician , Anointed Procession

June 16, 2019 1:38 a.m.

also Westvale Abbey  Flip since it creates a major pain in the but for your opponents

Dead2Value7theredo

Thank you for the card suggestions.

I considered Anointed Procession but Teysa is quite literally a token doubler herself so I opted to keep it out as it wasn’t necessary.

westvale abby I don’t see the benefit of it in this deck. This build is strictly Death by Death Triggers. There is no creature combat.

I could add the altar but again it’s not necessary and mill isn’t what I was going for.

Apologies if it sounds like I’m shooting down all your suggestions. Just giving my opinion on them.

You definitely need sac outlets.

There are 10 sac outlets in this decks current build. How many are you thinking I require?

June 19, 2019 7:05 p.m.

bushido_man96 says... #24

I'm counting about 6 sac outlets, maybe 7 if I bend my rules for it a little bit, and none of them are free sac outlets. drmezmo listed several very good free ones in his post above. I'd run Yahenni, Undying Partisan , Ashnod's Altar , and Viscera Seer for sure, and probably Carrion Feeder , too. These free sac outlets allow you to respond at instant speed to board wipes, exile spells, and other situations as they arise in a game. Much better bang for your buck with cards like these.

Fair enough. I've looked over my own choices more closely. There is room to improve. I still won't use Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar so I can keep the deck infinite free but I've found some possible better choices.
