+1/+1 Counter Dandân

Casual*

NyanFries

This decklist is a collection of ideas for a Dandan deck, which could be made from existing mtg cards, rebalanced existing cards, or entirely custom cards. The idea is to have one creature in the deck (10ish copies), about 3-4 unique instants (one or two counterspells, a fight spell, a bioshift spell, etc. Multiple copies of each), and a random collection of engine permanents, sorceries with flashback, and other stuff (some duplicates of all of these, especially engines, but not as many duplicates as there are of Dandan and instants). Starting lifetotals probably 10 life.

It is important that the board doesn't get locked up with multiple copies of Dandan in play. For example, if Dandan were Endless One, it would be cool if it had the additional text "Can't be blocked by more than one creature". Or maybe there are just enough engines and spells in the deck that help creatures get in, or reward you for doing so.

This Dandan is less focused on counterspell wars and top-of-deck matters. Instead, you're trying to find windows of opportunity to resolve Dandans and engines, trade favorably, sneak in for damage, and decide whether to prioritize short-term damage vs long-term value. Dandans and counterspells with X in the cost means that extra lands continue to be somewhat useful, and encourages you to wait to play larger Dandan. But more expensive Dandan can get mana leak, so the tension is deciding when to be greedy. Life totals of 10 means that a small Dan-dan, if unchecked, can win the game. So, resolving small Dan-Dan with a handful of removal could be a good plan.

Proliferate rewards you for getting multiple dandans in play, but some Damnation equivalent can punish you if you get too greedy.
