A fun little modern deck I put together, playing around with +1/+1 counters to deal enormous damage.

Sage of Hours has some obvious benefits. With the way this deck poops out +1/+1 counters he can hit that five counter mark really fast, which can give you extra turns, which can help you accumulate massive damage very quickly.

Kalonian and Corpsejack are your two big counter generators. They both can turn any counter creator from a small pump, into a huge threat.

Vraska is there to provide some much needed removal, and in some cases a secondary win con. She also plays nicely with Gilder Bairn, meaning she can consistently have more counters than your opponent will be comfortable with.

A few fun combos:

Corpsejack Menace + Bioshift= Love it. When you move counters via Bioshift there are two components, the removal of counters, and then putting counters on something else. This means if you Bioshift with a Corpsejack on the field, you double your dollar, and the recipient gets twice the counters.

Sage of Hours + Thrive (or any other counter generator)= You always get an extra counter thanks to the Sage's ability, and if you have a corpsejack out, this effect gets enormous.

Built on Budget as I already had the Kalonian Hydras who are big ticket items. Running three colors is always expensive, but I tried to keep the land prices down.

update in effort to reduce the costs of this deck, I replaced Abrupt Decay with Putrefy. A cheap substitute that for this decks purposes, accomplishes almost everything that Abrupt decay does.
