I recommend adding one Island, because you know any deck without one is doing something wrong. It also doesn't tamper with your combo at all.

Umm... I thought you only decked yourself when you DRAW and there aren't any cards left, so... your still safe, even IF you get Fatal Frenzy in your hand.

It goes off on your upkeep if you upkeep all your library then draw step no cards left you lose

ok, but you can attack before your next turn for lethal, so... does it really matter if you deck yourself in the process? I mean, unless an opponent can stop the attack in some way, you win. otherwise, you lose. Simple as that.

RPG-Lord Yes, it does matter, because the trigger is during upkeep, before your draw step. If you deck out, you then have to draw, and thus loose.

You won't deck yourself. Let's assume that this is what your deck is:

  • First six cards are mountains.
  • Next card is Countryside Crusher.
  • Next 20 cards are mountains.
  • Next card is Fatal Frenzy.
  • Next 32 cards are mountains.

You're on the play. You'll draw an opening hand with Countryside Crusher. In 3 turns, you'll be able to deploy it, pulling off eighteen mountains until you hit fatal frenzy. Countryside Crusher is a 21/21. You can now take your draw step. After that draw step, there are still 31 cards left in your library. Cast Fatal Frenzy and attack for 42. If you ever draw fatal frenzy without using Countryside Crusher's ability to put it into your hand, then Countryside Crusher's ability will deck you and kill you. But as long as Fatal Frenzy is still in your deck and isn't the last card, you're not going to deck yourself.

BTW, the actual chance to draw Countryside Crusher and also not draw Fatal Frenzy is 35.5932% if you mulligan down to the last card (which has to be Crusher). I also considered, that there have to be 10 Lands at least on top of your library after you have drawn your hand in order to do the 20 dmg necessary (3 lands drawn until you cast Crusher, 7 lands to ramp up Crusher and Frenzy).

Statistically speaking, your winning chance in a 3-round match (2 or 3 wins, 1 or 0 losses) is 28.9879%, if the dmg gets through.

for the deck to work all of the lands have to be full art right?

So I tried it out. On my first mulligan I got him. Played through and on the 5th round that's my end result.

Holy fudge I just realized I'm one of the "great deck builders" in the deck description! Not sure how well I fit that, but that's an awesome compliment! I must say I'm honored to be mentioned in the same category as some of the other builders mentioned! Thanks for the recognition!
