I had been playing Magic for a few years, and I realized Green typically gets out a lot of land. I wanted to make a Mono-Green deck, so I looked up cards that dealt with the number of Forests you controlled. Dauntless Dourbark and Timber Protector both came up in my search, and from there I created my Treefolk deck.

(There was a point where I just wanted ramp and big Green fatties, so I had Primalcrux, Drove of Elves, Vigor, Skyshroud Claim, Nature's Lore, and Traproot Kami with those two Treefolk. The deck didn't perform as well as expected.)
