29 Apr 2016 - FNM @ Mayhem Comics, Ames, IA - 3-0-1

This was my first time piloting the deck in an actual event and I was able to draw into first without bringing a sideboard. It turns out that this deck is pretty strong even when piloted by a total scrub like myself. ; _ ;

Round 1 - vs. UB Thopter Tron - 2-1

Game 1 (win): I got off to a fast start (T1 birds, T2 voice and more birds, T3 company) and was able to put together the combo before my opponent could really do anything.

Game 2 (loss): I keep a hand with no mana dorks but a T2 voice, which ended up getting Remanded. As the game went on I got stuck with a lot of color-intensive creatures in hand, so I ended up playing one guy per turn as my opponent churned out tokens using Thopter Foundry. I eventually drew into a pridemage and chorded for a pontiff mid-combat to kill most of his dudes, but it only bought me a turn before I got run over.

Game 3 (win): I had another fast start and was able to stick a bunch of manadorks before my opponent could get his Condescends online. A mid-combat Hibernation bounced most of my creatures, but I was able to apply keep applying pressure thanks to a small anafenza and zombie token. The game ended on a kind of disappointing note - on one hand, my opponent never found his 3rd tron land, which was unfortunate (he had a Mindslaver in hand that he couldn't afford to cast & activate), but on the other hand I missed a bunch of bolster triggers which would've allowed me to win the game a turn earlier.

Round 2 - vs. U(w) Fish - 2-0

Game 1 (win): between a Lord of Atlantis and Mutavault I got knocked to 10 life before I started to stabilize thanks to a voice, finks, and scooze. My opponent never saw any counterspells, so I was able to assemble the combo a couple of turns later, at which point he scooped.

Game 2 (win): my opponent drew 2 copies of Rest in Peace and a Path to Exile that he had brought in from his sideboard, but he never found a white source to cast them (apparently he was only running 5 white-producing lands in his whole deck, which seemed a little risky), so this game was basically a T4 goldfish on my end.

Round 3 - vs. Abzan Company (woo, mirror match!) - 2-0

Game 1 (win): I kept a slow hand with a T2 scooze while my opponent floods the field with dorks, a finks, and a seer, but before he could actually go for his combo I chorded for a pontiff and wiped his board. I decided to play it safe and chord for a big anafenza on the following turn to totally shut down his combo, from there it was only a couple of turns before I put together my own and he scooped.

Game 2 (win): I ended up playing in pretty much the opposite order as I did in game 1. I hit a big anafenza off of a T3 company, and on T5 after my opponent whiffed on a company of his own I wiped his board with 2 pontiff triggers.

Round 4 - draw

Me and my opponent decided to draw into 1st and 2nd so we could get some trading done. I picked up a Fulminator Mage and another Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip, so maybe I'll actually have a sideboard for next time...

P.S. please ignore the double post, I'm still trying to figure out the formatting on this site.
