triproberts12 Swords to Plowshares is not Modern legal. Originally I considered Red over Green. Fiery Justice was one my first picks for this deck but I decided Abzan/Junk was more of a viable answer. You made me think though. After test playing this deck, Mardu (R/W/B) doesn't seem that bad of an option. I will lose Nature's Claim and Abrupt Decay but White has responses to Artifact/Enchantment. Red can have board control and keep Aggro decks in check like Anger of the Gods, Pyroclasm, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Helix, Deflecting Palm, and Terminate. The "Burn" and the "Healing Death" could win games for me.
What are everyone thoughts about that? What if I switch to Mardu colors instead of Abzan/Junk?

If you are playing Mardu then Rain of Gore could be a substitute/supplement to Tainted Remedy.
July 22, 2015 3:59 p.m.
catrule3564 Unfortunately, Rain of Gore does not work in this deck. Lifelink and any of my life-gain spells will not work on my opponent. Rain of Gore only affects the controller of the life-gaining spell. So me casting Rest for the Weary for instance on my opponent will do nothing. If I used it on myself, then I will lose life. Lifelink does no work either since it doesn't go on stack. Rain of Gore requires the life-gain to go on the stack. Thank you though.

I love wall of shards so much in this deck. That is awesome lol

Condemn is great against aggro and works with your strategy

bud1357 True, I will hold a few in my sideboard. I'll adapt according to the meta at my local card shop.

I love the idea ... may be this card will work here against aggro Perimeter Captain and would work with Sanguine Bond in the late game.

I got inspired by your defenders. May be some thing like this could be a thing to, to build arround Tainted Remedy?
July 24, 2015 4:34 a.m.
You could propably change from Mardu to Esper, since then you can play counterspells (Hindering Light or Negate for example) and stuff like Serum Visions and Sleight of Hand to search for the things you need.

Dark Petition could be good, as you can search for Remedy(or any other card) and play it immediately

Very original idea, I like it very much, +1 !
If you're still searching for ways to protect Tainted Remedy, Greater Auramancy will do just that.
I don't think it's worth it in the deck as it is now but if you happen to put more enchantments in it (Gift of Orzhova, Blind Obedience, Outpost Siege to name a few that could fit), it could become a thing...

Hi! I just thought of another you could use! Vizkopa Guildmage, so you can give your opponent's creatures lifelink.
July 24, 2015 12:48 p.m.
Hoschie I'm glad this inspired you. Just some questions, how would you protect Tainted Remedy from removal? How would you respond if your opponent ran his/her own copy of Tainted Remedy against you? What's your response to flyers? If you are going with the Defender strategy, you might benefit from Stalwart Shield-Bearers or a couple of Assault Formations. It's not a bad strategy but I want the option to attack early games; thus the flying creatures and the burn. Sometimes by opponents are drawing bad hands and I shouldn't miss out on this opportunity. This is also my Plan B in case Tainted Remedy is failing due to enchantment removal or cards like Surgical Extraction.
hellto I have considered a switch to Esper but first I want to give a Mardu a chance. Maybe after a while, Blue might seem more tempting. :)
amazingdan Tutors are always good. I will have to think about it. Dimir Machinations's transmute ability and Idyllic Tutor are doing a fine job atm.
Darkiwi Curious suggestions. Greater Auramancy and Blind Obedience may help protect my Tainted Remedy and slow down aggro. I will have to test them out.
RPG-Lord I like Vizkopa Guildmage but I will have to test it out. The abilities are 3 mana each. I may be able to cast other cards with that same mana. Its worth testing nonetheless.
Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions. I really appreciate it.

to answer your question:
At the Moment just 1 protection: Thoughtseize
Answer to enemy Tainted Remedy: Thoughtseize + Abrupt Decay
i thought running 2 Assault Formation 1 Idyllic Tutor
answer to Flyer Wall of Shards and 12 removal (including 3 Thoughtseize )

Nice deck, and extremely good idea. If possible make a Abzan deck out of this deck, and add a lot of feed of clans.
Put whip of Erebos in there, about 2 of them, or at least put them in your cyborg, a deck like storm would be bad to go up against because of the fact that everything happens instantly first turn (Or I'm thinking of another type of deck)
I saw a card that exiles a target permanant and any other cards that have the same name as that card, if someone used this against you this would be bad as they would likely choose tainted remedy.
I have a abzan deck that you can check out. And you can check out the stuff in that deck so it'll give you a quick idea of a Abzan deck which you probably already know what should go in a Abzan deck, but my deck is a modern and I have a unique turn 4 combo.
I hope I helped you, and you can look at my Abzan deck that I made.
July 25, 2015 4:41 p.m.
Hoschie Hand removal is always good.
BobbyMega This deck was originally Abzan but I had issues with tempo decks, especially aggro decks like Zoo. I am no stranger to modern Abzan. Check out my ♙♟Doran Formation♟♙ deck. It uses Abzan staples with a twisted Doran, the Siege Tower and Assault Formation combo for aggro. The card you are referring to is Maelstrom Pulse :)
July 25, 2015 4:50 p.m.
It wasn't Maelstrom Pulse, it was a card that would let a player look through the oppoenets deck for 1 card and they would exile anything with the same name as that selected card.
July 25, 2015 8:38 p.m.
BobbyMega Hmm I can't imagine the card you are referring to. You are right though about cards like that being a threat. I will have cards like Leyline of Sanctity in my sideboard as a response.
July 25, 2015 10:22 p.m.
Thank you all for being on this journey with me. I am constantly testing this deck to find the best balance for Tainted Remedy. Your ingenious suggestions have helped tremendously. For those who just saw this deck, I originally made it Abzan but switched to Mardu. But after testing new ideas, I decided to revert back to my original colors. This is mainly because of cards like Nature's Claim, Harold of the Pantheon, and a few others. I am also trying out a new approach; I am making this enchantment heavy with some creatures and artifacts for support. I will be more control this time around (limiting or disrupting my opponent game plays). I hope you enjoy the changes. :)
July 25, 2015 10:34 p.m.
Ive really enjoyed the changes being made to this deck. I was always interested in Tainted Remedy, and this seems like a great place to start working on a deck for it. Love it for the fact you got extort in here as well!

Try out Grove of the Burnwillows, for constant ping off the opponent's life.
