If you buy the Born of the Gods Theme deck... it has a lot of shit for mono-devotion black. It has your Hero's Downfall , Pack Rat , Desecration Demon , Bile Blight , and a few other things too.. and it has a Thoughtseize in there as well for only 25. It's well worth it if you pick up 2 of them.

@KillTheIslandUser: That's not a great deal for me, because a) the cards I would use from there total to about $16 and b) my LGS retails it for $30, like SCG. That being said, the prices for the cards seem to have dropped from the $10-$14 that Hero's Downfall and Desecration Demon were (and the $5 Pack Rat was at :) ). I am considering slowly buying singles instead of relying on trades. BTW, there is no Thoughtseize in Underworld herald :(

@Shrooblord: I don't think Diabolic Tutor is worth it. It's a (relatively) high cost sorcery that has no immediate impact on the board. If I'm about to die, and I topdeck a something that's not a Diabolic Tutor (or a Swamp !) then I can usually stabilize.

Really nice deck. If you decide to run the Pack Rat i'd run them over Spiteful Returned . Also if you can it wouldnt be bad to pick up some Desecration Demon , they're down to about 5 bucks a pop now.

+1 from me! I was wondering if you get mana screwed often? 22 lands seems a little low, but clearly the deck works since you've been having success. Just wondering for my own curiosity. Definitely think a few more Temples will help if you can get them. Getting the trample ability out of Deviant Glee probably makes that card even better.

How has Gift of Orzhova been playing for you? In my opinion it just looks a little clunky. 3 mana for an aura that doesn't give any resilience to removal (apart from the +1 toughness), and also doesn't replace itself. Gary should be providing you with sufficient life gain, and i propose that you try Herald of Torment in gift's slot. It has bestow so you have flexibility in how you want to cast it, and the bestow is very reasonable, as well as just being a 3-power evasive beater for 3. Yes, the life-loss is annoying, but you're not running shocks or thoughtseize so it's not very significant, and as said earlier, gary can help with this.
