I had one Lightning Bolt in there but I only have one copy of the card and my local magic store doesn't have any and so I took it out...What would you take out in order to put Lightning Bolt in?

Oh, neither are half these cards haha yea run Lightning Bolt over Essence Backlash and get four Goblin Electromancer 's in there and two Guttersnipe 's.

That's why it's a modern deck :)
Concerning the four Goblin Electromancer . I was planning to do that I just don't have four right now.
You would take out Essence Backlash completely?

Yea I can help out :) I like the concept of this deck. There seems to be a mana problem in this deck. I don't suggest expensive lands because well.. they're expensive. With high costing cards like this you need ramp. There are only temporary ramp spells in modern such as Desperate Ritual . I would replace Essence Backlash with Rewind . This is one of my favorite cards but it is hard to make it work in modern. I think I've found the deck :) try it out and see how that works. Also make Goblin Electromancer a playset. That is a necessity. That is another one of my favorite cards. If you put in Desperate Ritual , it will be worth it thanks to electromancer. Along with Desperate Ritual throw in Pyretic Ritual and Seething Song while you're at it. Maybe even Manamorphose .

It's true that there is a slight mana problem in the beginning of a game but I didn't think it's that bad. However you are right and i should probably put some ramp spells in. What would you take out instead?
As for the Goblin Electromancer , I already said that I wanted to make them four I just don't have the card right now.
What do you think about Riddle of Lightning or Gelectrode ?

And as for Rewind , I'll see if I can get my hands on it.

I like Riddle of Lightning a lot in this deck. Gelectrode just seems too slow. Maybe put in a wall to protect yourself instead of ramp like Wall of Frost or Fog Bank . And go on tcgplayer right now and order those cards. They are dirt cheap, especially the electromancers. You can probably get everything you need for under five bucks.

And yes completely ditch Essence Backlash . In modern you won't be facing huge power creatures as often as standard. You will see things like Delver of Secrets Flip and Snapcaster Mage which will do nothing to them. Trust me, it is too bulky and not nearly as effective as some of the other spells we have been mentioning. Maybe in the sideboard if you play against tron or ramp decks.

Oh and if you hit Essence Backlash with epic experiment that sucks. I might take Epic Experiment out anyway.
September 18, 2014 8:44 a.m.
what would you take out for Riddle of Lightning ? putting in a wall is probably a good idea but i want to go for offensive spells as much as possible.
as for tcgplayer; they don't ship to my country :/ I'm from Europe.
You are absolutely right concerning the fact that hitting Essence Backlash with Epic Experiment sucks and. Depending on what I find in the store tomorow I might take it out completely.
However I most certanly won't take Epic Experiment out because it's just so good at oneshoting people and it's a lot of fun.

Another card i was thinking of putting in was Pyromancer Ascension ....

Can I make a version of your deck that I think would work well on my account? then we could chat in those comments?
September 18, 2014 3:51 p.m.
I enjoy the addition of arcane melee I think that works perfectly in there. I still don't like the Counterflux main board cause of electromancer andin my opinion Mana Leak is better for this but other than that I like it :) +1

First of all: thanks :)
and while you probably are right that in general Mana Leak might be better than Counterflux but... in this deck I am actually not aiming towards control that much. Counterflux is in there as kind of an emergency spell for when i absolutely have to stop something my opponent wants to play. And in that case I do not want my opponent to have any possibility of negating my counterspell.
So you are right that Mana Leak is a counterspell for virtually one mana in this deck but if it's only in there twice the odds of having one whenever I'd need it are quite small. Thats why I'm sticking with my last resort Counterflux
Nevertheless thank you for your feedback and generally for your help in creating this deck :D

You might want Curse of Bloodletting instead of Dictate of the Twin Gods since it only affects them.
September 22, 2014 4:05 p.m.
Not a bad idea at all :) But right now I feel like I spent enough money on cards for one week so I might get it sometime but not right now :) Thanks for the idea anyways.
Aso Dictate of the Twin Gods isn't long on the field most of my games because it's either destroyed or my opponent dies to a devestating combo within the next two turns :D
September 22, 2014 4:11 p.m.
i don't think it's very expensive but its your call. You could also consider Fire Servant . it helps kill creatures but doesn't double the damage dealt by your creatures.
September 23, 2014 8:51 p.m.
Also I love how you added cards like Grapeshot that's a great idea. Copy it enough times and you're dealing lots of damage.
September 23, 2014 8:53 p.m.
Also, a final comment: A lot of your burn spells have really high mana costs and in modern you want spells with low cmc. You should absolutely have Lightning Bolt in there.
September 23, 2014 8:55 p.m.
I also really like flashing out Dictate of the Twin Gods at the end of my opponents turn.
Funny thing is I had Fire Servant and Lightning Bolt in there at a point but they fell out over the course of creating this deck.
As for my burn spells Magma Jet is in for the scry and Izzet Charm is more often than not a counter spell. Anything else is rather for damaging my opponent directly than burning his creatures.
