The Plague Myr are in here till I can afford to replace them with Noble Hierarch

I'd recommend getting some Misty Rainforest and Hinterland Harbor to make your mana base even better. I'd also try using Birds of Paradise instead of Plague Myr so you can go T1 Mana Dork, T2 Creature and leave up protection. +1 for infect! :)

Plague Myr is only there till I can afford Noble Hierarch and Misty Rainforest are left out due to budget now. Hinterland Harbor may find a home as well but to be honest I have yet to run into many trouble yet but thanks for the input

Plus Plague Myr also has infect but I do see your point with Birds of Paradise but preferred one drop would be Glistener Elf

I play UG infect, I can tell you that Melira is not the only way to stop infect. I cannot express the rage of your creature dying to Path after a double pump. Sure you have mana for protection spells, but you usually spend ALL you mana every turn pumping your guys to kill them before their deck starts rolling.

Why no Sylvan Scryings? Also, if you do end up putting Sylvan Scryings in there, you can be tricky by changing one of your forests to a Temple Garden. This will let you use Rest in Peace and Path to Exile in the sideboard.

February 3, 2015 4:41 p.m.

What reason is there to use Sylvan Scrying? The deck curves out at 2. You don't run land fetches; you run pumps. ANd RIP isn't needied in the sideboard because you want that mana going into a +4/+4 spell.

Then why run Relic of Progenitus at all? Rest in Peace is a better sideboard option for graveyard hate, and having a Temple Garden won't break the bank. Also, once the deck upgrades to Birds of Paradise, or Noble Hierarch, it has even more options to cast it. Your opponent won't expect you to have it, so they might sideboard out enchantment hate games 2 and/or 3. You also don't run 4 Sylvan Scryings, you run 1 or 2 to find Pendelhaven or an Inkmoth Nexus if you need either. It's just another layer of protection.

I always hold back mana for protection spells. I don't wanna run a land just for one card and Relic of Progenitus exiles one card at a time or pay 1 and exile whole graveyard and I get to draw a card. And Path to Exile no good since I'm going all out attack. Pendelhaven and Inkmoth Nexus not important enough to run a card to fetch them.

You could switch a single island for Oboro, Palace in the Clouds, because it enters untapped and taps for colorless, dodges removal, and gives landfall triggers when it comes to topdeck mode and you draw Groundswell

deltacobra says... #11

True but might not have both at the same time. And any game I played has not gone past turn 4. I do use that land in my mill deck with Hedron Crab. And I wouldn't use Groundswell unless I had a land in hand which has never been a problem yet.

February 3, 2015 6:18 p.m.

It's wise to be prepared for these things.

Drawing one card out of 60 not a plan I wanna relay on. And since I curve out at 2 mana holding one in my hand not a difficult task. Plus I'm gonna be adding Polluted Delta cheaper then adding Misty Rainforest and still gets me Breeding Pool which will help with Groundswell

February 3, 2015 6:30 p.m.

Unless you have a trample pump, then if they have a chump blocker, Path to Exile will help. Why isn't Pendelhaven or Inkmoth Nexus good enough? Chances are you aren't going off turn 2 so why not make sure you'll win in the mid-game, or make sure you can rebuild? Also, why would you spend 1 mana per turn to use Relic of Progenitus when 2 mana ends all graveyard problems. I guess it's just a matter of preference.

You don't use 1 mana per turn. You tap it exile a card from graveyard. Or pay 1 and exile whole graveyard and draw a card. I do have Rancor in there and Blighted Agent in there and Apostle's Blessing helps with protection and getting through blockers and Vines of Vastwood protects against Path to Exile also I can slip in Spellskite to help as well. And why go fetch a land when I can throw down 2 pump spells and win the game.

And with infect it all or nothing if not over by turn 4 you finished. I mean if you think you can last longer a card I use to run was Wild Defiance but to me it was to slow cause most games I want over by turn 3.

Hynx says... #17

with blue in there im surprised you arent running Distortion Strike its a one cost card that gets played twice, boosts power a dab, and makes Glistener Elf unblockable, or your myr; especially if there are cheap chump blockers in the way against say, a goblin deck. if the game turns longer than intended its amazing for your maybe card Wild Defiance as it procs its effect twice.

tclaw12 says... #18

Wouldn't you rather have green fetches like Windswept Heath or Wooded Foothills since green makes up most of the mana cost?

February 4, 2015 4:57 p.m.

deltacobra says... #19

the only thing I'll be fetching would be Breeding Pool and Distortion Strike in the sideboard for those match up. And Wild Defiance in the maybe board cause most games should be over turn 3.

February 4, 2015 6:42 p.m.

Why Noble Hierarch???? The last thing you need are mana dorks. Sure, the exalted works in your favor, but it's not worth it, way too slow.

February 18, 2015 6 p.m.

deltacobra says... #21

running a mana dork that gives exalted and that extra one infect could make all the difference and it helps get out Wild Defiance much faster

February 18, 2015 6:14 p.m.

tclaw12 says... #22

Definitely keep the Noble Hierarch :)

If you can, you should go up to 8 fetches (any that fetch for green) as another way to fuel Become Immense.

I'd also recommend Dryad Arbor somewhere in the 75 for Liliana of the Veil.

Some other nice SB options might include Twisted Image, Dismember, Dispel, and Nature's Claim.

Nice deck :D

February 19, 2015 6:43 p.m.

deltacobra says... #23

I been looking at Nature's Claim didn't have any so I just used what I have but def will be adding some of those. And Yea I def thought about more fetches to fuel that. And why arbor she suffers from summoning sickness so can't use her turn 1 so doesn't she kinda slow me down or can she be gotten with a fetch land

February 19, 2015 8:34 p.m.

tclaw12 says... #24

Yeah what I see most is only Breeding Pools, Forests, a Dryad Arbor, and Green Fetchlands, so you can fetch for anything (including Dryad Arbor).

Since you can fetch for Dryad Arbor, you usually only do it at the end of their turn, giving it psuedo-haste, or in response to a Liliana of the Veil -2.
