Pretty much based around attacking a lot
Mardu Ascendancy
, Mardu Strike Leader and
Ankle Shanker
provide huge bonuses when the player attacks. Zurgo Helmsmasher either does 7+ damage or gains a +1/+1 counter almost every turn that he attacks. War flare just gives all your creatures a boost if you need to overcome a couple of blockers or you need just a little more damage to win the game.
I tried to add in some dragon synergy with [[kologhan, the storm's fury,
Wardscale Dragon
and
Shockmaw Dragon
. They work well in the all-out-attack strategy of this deck but they're pretty mana intensive so they may be candidates for sideboarding out in certain situations.
As an offensive deck, i thought the deck needed more low-mana creatures to receive the benefits of
Ankle Shanker
and
War Flare
, so I added in a few
Typhoid Rats
, mardu war-shriekers (once you've got 4 mana out, it's ultimately a 3/3 for 1 mana... and it can be pretty useful if you need to get more mana of a certain color), plus some Battle Brawlers and
Rally the Ancestors
, to bring back some friends.
Harsh Sustenance
,
Mardu Charm
and
Suspension Field
were added for removal, but if you get out enough creatures, or tokens from
Mardu Ascendancy
or Mardu Strike Leader, then
Harsh Sustenance
can swing the game completely. The mardu charm also has some other uses.
I personally like playing a controlled style and it took a lot of willpower to construct this all-out aggro deck, but I still allowed myself
Read the Bones
and Sign in Blood for card advantage.
Not sure what to say for my sideboard yet, though I have some stuff sitting in my maybeboard... as always comments and suggestions are very welcome. Also, if you like, I have a few other decks on my profile if you want to check them out...
