Naya Combo deck.

Is it good? No, I don't think so. Do I still want to play it? You're goddamned right.

The goal of this deck is to use Burning Anger + Hornet Nest + Midnight Guard to create an arbitrarily large amount of 1/1 tokens with deathtouch.

Good news to those who are afraid of token destruction! The tokens don't matter. It's about bringing in an arbitrarily large amount of creatures at all. Using Alter of the brood and/or Outpost Siege set to Dragons, the very creation of tokens themselves acts as a means of victory. If you wanna win, just be sure to put 'em in.

A second key point here is utilizing Ephemeral Shields and Ajani's Presence to make it so you can do an arbitrarily large amount of damage to Hornet Nest.

There are three main methods of assembling the combo.

  1. There's redundancy in all but three parts: Burning Anger + Hornet Nest + Midnight Guard . The rest should basically assemble itself. In playtests, I've only once needed the rest by the time I can assemble this portion of the combo.

  2. Tutors of sorts. In particular, Ajani, Mentor of Heroes + Yisan, the Wanderer Bard act as a means of getting the cards you need when you need them. Both have you key weakness. Yisan can only effectively tutor one of the two key creatures to assemble the combo. Past that, Yisan loses his key functionality and is effectively a vanilla creature. Ajani can only deal with four cards at a time. This is generally enough, but it's an extant weakness all the same.

  3. Scry Lands. Seriously, how great are those? The Temples let me flit through my deck at increased speed. The synergy between Scry and Ajani shouldn't be denied as well. Big fan of that.

Deck Weaknesses:

  1. The mana curve sucks. I like having a solid mana curve. The deck's under construction and I need to work on it, but the mana curve is nowhere near where I need it at the moment.

  2. Removal. I can't deal with removal for shit right now. In my quest for redundancy, I've really failed to solve redundancy issues. Isn't that frustrating.

  3. Non-combo win-cons and winning against Aggro. At the moment my aggro strategy would be survive long enough and maybe be indestructible at the right time. Plus, if I don't assemble the combo, I'm really fucked. It needs a lot of work.

Any advice would be helpful. I've never build a combo deck before and this is really, really, really new to me. I'd love any help. Thank you!
