Heroic Intervention is not bad, But what should I cut for it? I was considering a lot of different protective spells, and this one too, and it was always hard to decide what to cut.

So I'm confused on where the control tag is correct here. You're not exactly playing Bramblecrush types of cards, so aren't you more midrange?

Hi TheRedGoat! And thank you for upvote!

Well, actually, the control tag is here because when the deck was created it run more cards for control. But even now the deck contains a very decent number of cards for board control. But I like your idea for changing it to midrange tag.

Nice deck! I'd recommend switching the Norwood Priestess for an Elvish Piper though. The Piper can be used whenever you want, while the priestess' ability only works during your own turn.

Thanks NV_1980!

Elvish Piper was in the deck, and it's a good card. The reason why I use Norwood Priestess instead of Elvish Piper is the difference in speed. Priestess can be activated faster than Piper. Another reason is that Priestess is much more convenient to use with untappers (Quirion Ranger and Wirewood Lodge for example), because you dont need an additional mana for reuse of its ability. And a little bonus - Priestess has in its mana cost for devotion (Karametra's Acolyte, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx).

But I do like Elvish Piper, and I would like to use both of them, Piper and Priestess, I will think about it.

Me is curious, what decks does your meta/playgroup consist of?

Either way, you should highly consider removing Pathbreaker Ibex and Wild Beastmaster. While both quite easily pump up your team, they pale in comparison to Craterhoof Behemoth. While redundancy is always a good thing to have in an edh deck, neither are strong enough by themselves (i.e. they do not win the game immediately) to warrant inclusion to a "control" deck. Recycle and Praetor's Counsel will do you better.

In this deck, there are plenty of winmore cards. Traverse the Outlands, Viridian Longbow, and Nacatl War-Pride all fit into the category. If you are spending 5 mana to find 8 lands, chances are you are already winning on that turn or going to assuredly win on the upcoming turn. Consider using cards such as Exploration (explosive), Mana Reflection (this on turn 3, if it survives, usually means you win on turn 5), Staff of Domination (combos). You should also find space for the eldrazi titans (kozilek especially as more potent card draw).

There are cards in this deck that don't make sense (some mentioned above), unless you are tuning your deck against specific other decks (i.e. not tfc / pfc / U/x stax)

Hey Matrixxx999 awesome list. Have you considered Traverse the Ulvenwald?

Matrixxx999 says... #8

Hi, BolasFucks!

Thanks for upvote and for kind words! No I haven't consider Traverse the Ulvenwald! Thanks for suggestion.

Ok, miracleHat, Thanks for your comment and your suggestions. I will try to answer your questions and clarify my choice of certain cards.

Playgroup - Most often I play against Zur, Purphoros, Xenagos. Sometime I play against Meren, Azusa, Rafiq, Narset etc. So, I cant say that I create decks for some specific environment. On the contrary, I try to make decks as more versatile as posible.

Question about Pathbreaker Ibex and Wild Beastmaster: I realy doubt that someday I will cut Pathbreaker Ibex, its to good in this deck, it is one of the main agro creatures of the deck, it has a lot of strong synergies with so many cards (described in primer) and with Rhonas. When my opponents see him on the battlefield, they begin to fidget nervously in the armchairs and ask each other "Do You have board wipe spell?". You yourself mentioned that redundancy is very important in EDH and I absolutely agree with this. Wild Beastmaster is in the testing mode, was added to the deck about a week ago and havent been tested well enough, but I agree that it could be replaced with something more useful. I will consider some replacemets after more testing.

About winmore cards: Traverse the Outlands - "If you are spending 5 mana to find 8 lands, chances you are already winning on that turn or going to assuredly win on the upcoming turn" - exactly! You will just win on the next turn, and it can happen on turn four easily. Comparing Mana Reflection with Traverse the Outlands I can say that in this deck Traverse the Outlands is better, because its cheaper, provides more safe ramp (dont need to survive a turn) and as You said both of them are winmore. And I prefer to use as a mana doubler Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, tutorable, can be cheated and has a mana denial ability. Nacatl War-Pride is in the testing mode too, recently added, but I see a lot of potencial in this creature! The reasons why it is a good card in this deck described in Primer. Exploration - this deck dosen't draw lands, and the land count is minimal so most of the game Exploration is useless, I tested it a lot. For the same reason I cut Azusa from the deck. Staff of Domination is good for redundency for combos, but It will be a second card wich is useless outside of combo and I don't want it, thats why I run only Mantle in the deck. Win through a combo is plan B in this deck, usualy it wins through agro strategy. Choosing from the Eldrazi titans I would choose only one - Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, he is in Maybeboard for a long time and someday I will try to use him, maybe instead of World Breaker. This deck run very powerful spells for drawing extra cards (especialy with Rhonas early in the game) i like those spells more then Kozilek.

I am familiar with Recycle and it is definitely an interesting card, I will think about using it, in this deck it could be realy fun

So hope I clarified the choice of cards and why they are good/or bad in this deck. If you have any additional questions or suggestions, be sure to ask.

Hi again miracleHat! And thanks that you still here :)

I am grateful for your interest to my deck and your explanations and opinion.

I have no doubt about your knowledge in mono green decks. All the cards you suggested are great and I am very familiar with them. All that I wanted to say is that some of them is not so good in this deck, and some "not so good" and even weak cards are shine here especily having Rhonas as commander.

Pathbreaker Ibex - he won me many games, he actualy can kill at least one player in one attack having Rhonas by his side. All I am saying is based on my experience playing with this creature. Comparing him with Blightsteel Colossus Colossus has its weaknesses in this build, starting from super high cmc and the fact that it cant be cheated by Norwood Priestess and Natural Order. Triumph of the Hordes was in the deck for a couple of tests. But I'm allergic to "infect" mechanic and trying to win with pure combat damage. But anyway, Your explanations and reasons convinced me to change Pathbreaker Ibex and test something else (maybe Recycle?).

Sorry but I just cant cut Traverse the Outlands this card is super powerful in this deck, You dont need some other creature that makes Travers effective cuz you already have Rhonas (turn 2 usualy online), see this deck with this commander plays a bit different from some other green decks. And Travers can be disrupted, yes (actualy as any spell, and Mana Reflection in particular), considering all enchantment and artifact hate in EDH and super hate Mana Reflection causes it is target number one when it on the table. So, I would prefer having both Traverse the Outlands and Mana Reflection in the deck. I will definitely test Mana Reflection thanks for this suggestion.

Exploration is a good card, but not here, belive me, I tested it a lot, and almost always was desapointed.

So thanks to your advices I will try to test Recycle (realy excited about that card) and Mana Reflection

Thanks again for all your advices and help!

Yup! Be careful bringing this deck to any blue-intensive game/meta, as counterspells will savage your draw spells and you will many times find yourself getting 2for1'd if you are not careful.

Good luck have fun!

I don't even wanna talk about the deck. I just want to say that this is the most beautiful deck page I've seen. You are truly a visioinary

I'm surprised you aren't running Regrowth! It doesn't do any one thing on its own, but it's basically a cheaper, harder-to-fetch Eternal Witness. Nothing quite like getting a second chance when a key card is knocked out, you know?

Matrixxx999 says... #14

xaviermp - Wow, thanks for your kind words, man!

ClockworkSwordfish - Regrowth is realy good, I actualy used Noxious Revival in the deck, it was pretty good too, because it additionaly can disrupt someones reanimation attempt. Well there are so many good cards in green, it is a pity that it is not possible to use them all :). And considering that I have a low count of recursion spells I think you right and I need to find room for Regrowth or even Noxious Revival again. Thanks a lot for suggestion!

My pleasure! This deck totally rules - it's fun just to look at. It's easy to forget just how much monogreen can do on its own, so long as you really dig for all of its best pieces.

Also, I'm curious - have you tried Yeva, Nature's Herald in the past? Seems to me you could pull off some pretty nasty tricks by having all of your creatures ready to pop in at instant speed. Pseudo-haste and mid-combat equipment removal thanks to Reclamation Sage and the like are great, but my head's absolutely spinning with the stuff you could do with a Temur Sabertooth.

Hey good list you here I love Rhonas. How did you make the page backround a picture in the case of yours it is genesis wave help thanks

Matrixxx999 says... #18

Thanks ClockworkSwordfish! Yes, monogreen surprised me with its ability to give almost anything for versatile building: ramp, tutors, draw extra cards, noncreature (and even creature) removal, recurcion etc.

Yeva, Nature's Herald was in the deck. Most of the time I didn't want to cast it. The main problem is that when it enters the battlefield, it doesn't change the state of the game in any way for your advantage. Usualy only after one turn she begin to give you some value, oh, and the only benefit from it in the same turn, is that it activates Rhonas (4 power). I can aford to have a creature which requires a full turn for value only if it is realy agressive creature, or does something realy powerful like Champion of Rhonas or Elvish Piper and could be used with haste. But I'll try again her maybe instead of Polukranos, World Eater.

I'm trying to get my deck pages to look as good as this... Any chance you could direct me to a tutorial or maybe even this CSS file? I'm having trouble finding a good tutorial that teaches me what I need

I know it aint fancy but, Lure on your commander during attacks can wipe any (-infect or banding) creature/s your opponents control.

November 28, 2017 3:56 p.m.

Matrixxx999 says... #21

Thanks for your comment MrBronson!

I used Lure in the deck before and it worked pretty good, but over time I ran into some problems: not always creatures could block Rhonas (tapped for some reasons), this card can't kill on instant speed like Ulvenwald Tracker or Viridian Longbow and it is useless if Rhonas can't attack.

Maybe you could use Thornbite Staff to Machine down your opponents creatures.

November 29, 2017 12:04 a.m.

Matrixxx999 says... #23

Thornbite Staff was in the deck, but I prefer to use Viridian Longbow because it is faster. The fact that You need to cast/equip/kill one creature from the start is depressed me when I tested it. But since then the speed of the deck has increased, so maybe I'll try to test it again. Thanks for your suggestion!
