If you want a creature that does what Courser does, and allows you to add an additional land to the field, consider Oracle of Mul Daya .

Hm, it is one mana more and I lose the lifegain, but I think it's worth it for the extra ramping potential. Thanks! .

Not to mention, she's actually cheaper than Courser at the moment.

Actually, Courser of Kruphix would probably work better in this deck due to the large amount of fetch cards like Ranger's Path . I'll gain a substantial amount of life if I get him out early game, he's also 1 mana cheaper.

It's cool~ I made the same mistake when I started the deck, haha.

I completely understand if you don't want to add a color, but I still think Sakura-Tribe Elder is a direct upgrade on Farseek and Cultivate would be better than Ranger's Path .

Agreed on Sakura-Tribe Elder , I didn't know you could block and sac it, that's a really cool (and dirty) mechanic!

Cultivate only puts one basic land on the field and another basic land in your hand.

Ranger's Path puts two Forests on the field for one mana more. Idk, I feel like that's a bit better than Cultivate .

I think that some Scourge of Valkas could be pretty good in the mainboard, especially with Dragon Egg and Dragon Broodmother . You also could consider Kessig Wolf Run , as it's a pretty good way to spend some extra mana, since few (suprirsingly) of your dragons have firebreathing and it's good with a lategame STE.

Lightning Bolt could also help. It's good for closing games out and takes care of pesky Dark Confidant s and some planeswalkers.

I've already been over why I don't have Scourge of Valkas mainboarded. (it's in the purged comments attached to one of my updates)

Kessig Wolf Run is a cool idea, but land is tight in the deck due to the high amount of fetches and Rootbound Crag I have in there. I'd like to make sure I get a Forest and/or a Mountain turn 1.

I can't believe I forgot about good ol' Lightning Bolt ! Sideboarding immediately.

Thanks for the suggestions! :)

You could swap Increasing Savagery for Crucible of Fire , but that would remove the option of awekening your Slumbering Dragon , and I assume that's big part of the reason you have it in there, so that might not be a good idea. I made a dragon tribal myself as my first constructed, and I like your version, good job!

Smellygoat11 says... #15

Nah, Crucible of Fire is the same mana cost for considerably less than Increasing Savagery .

Thanks for the suggestion and support!~

Oh wait, it's all dragons you control, I didn't read that.

I shall consider it.

Love seeing dragons, and this is pretty well put together. Couple cards to consider. Semblance Anvil . It's basically an artifact version of Dragonspeaker Shaman . Also might want to look into Zhur-Taa Druid with Furyborn Hellkite . Also, took a look at Descendants' Path .

I LOVE Semblance Anvil , that's just a hilarious card. That one's heading straight to the sideboard.

I also love the Furyborn Hellkite + Zhur-Taa Druid combo, but the deck is a little starved for room right now. I'll keep the combo in mind as I playtest though.

The deck started with Descendants' Path , and the card frankly screws me over more than it really helps. It's very unreliable, so I got rid of it in favor of more ramp.

Thank you for the awesome suggestions! :D

I have to give a +1 just for having a modern Dragon Tribal deck. Awesome deck.

Don't know if anyone has suggested this yet but Scourge of Valkas instead of Slumbering Dragon. Just think it is alot more powerful

YMcity says... #24

spam it with Fires of Yavimaya + Utvara Hellkite infinite dragons

June 19, 2014 3:10 p.m.

Tingettley says... #25

@YMCity- Not exactly. Fires does give the dragons haste, but the dragons come into play, but not attacking. Your declare attackers has already been established at the point of the trigger effect of the Hellkite. However, utilizing the Hellkite, you can have a semi-infinite combo using extra attack steps, like Savage Beating or Hellkite Charger , Giving extra attack phases, allowing the Hellkite to trigger again.
