steghryndal Unfortunately all of the Chandras printed over the years are pretty bad in commander. Burn/Red isn't a very strong gameplan/color in commander and it really shows in Mono-Red planeswalkers.

The Chain Veil seems like an auto include. Forgive me if there's an explanation as to why you didn't pick it in your description.

Grantley91 I have The Chain Veil Addressed in my Trap cards section. It really stays in your hand as a dead card a majority of the time. Almost any other card would be better in a lot of situations.

Wow, great deck! I was toying with 5 color superfriends for a while and then when Atraxa spoiled I shifted gears to that. 4 colors makes the mana base easier to handle (wish I would have realized it before I bought all the extra filter lands....) and red wasn't really adding a lot to the equation. I would love to have a Narset and pop out 4 planeswalkers second main phase... but alas. Feel free to check out my deck Stay Fly til you Die.

I can help, I have this kind of deck: Superfriends. You may draw any idea from my deck, it's based in creature control, this obliterate opponents with Enchs and PWs. Have fun!

Have you considered Sliver Queen as the commander? Reading the description I understood that Tokens are a thing in this deck, so she may help. If not, her tokens can just chump block to save your Walkers from taking damage. Sliver Hivelord is a more affordable idea, being indestructible and less mana intensive then Progenitus.

And any thoughts on Atraxa, Praetors' Voice in the 99?

lil_cheez I have considered Sliver Queen as the commander. I like having Progenitus because at the very worst, you can play him and win the game. Sliver Queen just doesn't offer that kind of inevitability. As for Atraxa, Praetors' Voice, I addressed her in my C16/Aether Revolt section.

Hansenl, Sliver Queen is a good option because she is a 7/7 beater that you can get out for half the cost of Progenitus. That is a three turn clock. Since commander damage is 21, Progenitus is also a 3 turn clock if you can't pump him. Progenitus still dies to board wipes (which are common in my meta), so the 3 extra power/toughness is not that great. Especially since you can't target Progenitus with walkers like Elspeth, Knight-Errant second +1. Yes the protection means people can't block, but if you are using your commander to swing in a walker deck, you likely have a walker on the field that can grant it evasion or tapping down the enemy or destroying them etc.

Also you might want to consider the queen because she pumps out cheap blockers that with cards like Cryptolith Rite turn into mana dorks. It then also gives you the option of replacing mana rocks with the two synergistic mana slivers Manaweft Sliver and Gemhide Sliver.

Not saying you have to make this change but it is a worth while option, and I figured I would point out some things you might not have considered.

Also, you might want to consider adding Rings of Brighthearth. It lets you copy your walkers abilities. This is great for ults, but also still very useful if you have a need for extra effects, it can double your draw effects, double the number of elspeth solders etc.

sweetaction I have Rings of Brighthearth in my good adds section. I will defiantly look into the sliver idea. By Ahmonket I'm sure we will have changes!

Good luck! I am rebuilding my Sliver Queen focused deck to be an atraxa 4 color super friends. I have a feeling I will end up changing it back but figured I would try it out.

I would planeswalk 500 miles

Nice, this deck seems sweet, but you might want to add more tutors, as many planes walkers can take over a game in certain situations.

Wonky.wombat. I am currently adding Vampiric Tutor and Enlightened Tutor. These are in my good adds section and will hopefully be in the deck by Ahmonket.

why would you not have venser, the sojourner in your deck? infinite turns with ral zarek and doubling season

February 14, 2017 12:57 a.m.

Hansenl says... #16

Birdmn98 I had him in the original build and he got cut. I found that when doubling season wasn't out, his +2 was not that useful. There aren't too many planeswalkers that you use the -X ability on right away. He is best with planeswalkers that you would do that with.

February 14, 2017 7:25 a.m.

Sterling Grove is great protection for Doubling season and also works as a tutor in a pinch.

May 3, 2017 4:29 p.m.

Privileged Position and Greater Auramancy because, let's face it, Doubling Season is the back bone of most superfriend decks.

I see you're missing the infinite combo though, with the Ral Zarek you already have, with Nissa, Worldwaker, and Chain Veil added you get infinite planeswalker abilities. Definitely worth adding into any superfriends deck.

ZackEstin That is a great como! However, most people (myself included) are not a big fan of infinite combos in EDH. Second, we currently are running 5 forests in the entire deck so getting the infinite combo in would mean changing the manabase plus adding a win more card (The Chain Veil).

Used to run 5 colour super friends. I liked Conflux to tutor for my combo pieces. Would ult Tamiyo, Field Researcher, and conflux into Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, Ajani, Caller of the Pride, Sorin, Grim Nemesis, another card depending on the board state, and then another tutor to get my Akroma's Memorial. If doubling season is out, get 100 life, make over 400 tokens, all with vigilance, first strike, haste, flying... Fun times :D Of course you don't have to, just a fun idea

Actually you have 36 forests if prismatic omen is out. And there is nothing that says you have to go infinite, but the possibility is still there vs douche agro.

Hansenl says... #23

_Hybrid That seems awesome! I used to have conflux in the deck but 8 mana is quite a lot for a tutor. I would have a hard time cutting a card to replace it with Conflux.

Aaj3327 Having Prismatic Omen does make the combo a little more viable. However, I don't think that the addition of The Chain Veil and Nissa, Worldwaker is justified as a defense for aggro decks. In case of an aggro meta the addition of more 1 for 1 removal is a better idea.

_Hybrid says... #24

Thats true, it was more of a combo piece once I got Tamiyo's Emblem to cast for free. In any case, the deck looks great!

I find Merciless Eviction is just strictly better than Descend upon the Sinful as it is far more versatile. I would also consider adding an Austere Command over Decree of Pain for that same reason, as being able to hate out Enchantments and/or Artifacts when needed is always great.

Is there a specific reason you choose to run Hero's Demise over something like Path to Exile? While I can see the appeal of being able to spot remove Commanders for little mana investment, I don't really understand why you would dedicate a slot to such a narrow focus card when there are alternatives that are arguably better.

Anyway, this deck looks like a load of fun to play and I hope my suggestions are at least a little helpful.
