Swap foundry of the counsels for Radiant Fountain or the one that heals from colorless creatures to buy more time perhaps?

I can agree with that. Foundry of the Consuls is a backup plan in case the board is cleared I can throw up 2 Thopters. I can cut 2 and go for heals. Thanks!

A 2 set of foundry sounds perfect; I may put one back into my blue thopter deck as well. Great deck by the way!!

You might want to be able to do more early game. Right now, the only defended you have for the first 2 turns are Clash of Wills and Swift Reckoning and Swift Reckoning is only after they deal damage to you.

That's why I'm thinking about replacing Chief of the Foundry and Thunderclap Wyvern and bring in 4x Ensoul Artifact. I can enchant Darksteel Citadel and use thopters to make it unblockable or make a 5/5 flyer. Regardless by turn 2 I can have a 5/5 indestructible artifact land. My feelings were, so far the creature buffs are working, is it worth sideboarding the creatures or the enchantment?

I would add at least 1x Anticipate and would add 1x Alhammarret's Archive when you play Radiant Fountain in mainboard. I would change the following: 1x Anticipate for 1x Whirler Rogue; 3x Radiant Fountain for 3x Foundry of the Consuls; 1x Alhammarret's Archive for 1x Thopter Spy Network; 3x Treasure Cruise for 2x Talent of the Telepath and 1x Thopter Spy Network; 1x Monastery Siege for 1x Whirler Rogue

it looks like you want to put 2 decks in one. it only contradicts each other as it wants to go late but artifacts are usually aggressive. I would choose mill or robots.

I was feeling that. It seems I should pull robots and go blue/red with them and make this solely mill. Thanks all! I have work to do on this.

to be honest haberdashdsgn I think that tutelage deck seems better and is laughed at but underrated for sure! Keep up the good work and check out the dragon deck I made too!

If I add Treasure Cruise I feel I'm delving away from Jace and his second ability but I will need to replace Mind Sculpt so I'm wondering if I add some more Healing Hands as well as Bone to Ash with Treasure Cruise and replace the Mind Sculpt post rotation.

August 26, 2015 10:37 a.m.

Why no Treasure Cruise? Also, Bone to Ash seems possible since it triggers Tutelage.

Maybe board. They will most likely replace mind sculpt. I was just getting on that track thanks!

So here's my game plan, please let me know what you all think of these changes.

-3x Mind Sculpt for +3x Ojutai's Command

-1x Mind Sculpt and -1x Clash of Wills for +2x Treasure Cruise

-3x Negate for +3 Silumgar's Scorn

I would recommend replacing the blighted lands with either fetch lands or just basic plains if you don't have the budget. while play testing this deck, I was consistently losing due to a shortage of white mana. eventually I started treating the blighted lands as basic plains instead and it helped immensely. the hardest part of this deck is stabilizing, and you can't do that if you have a mana shortage. also their abilities aren't worth losing mana, control needs as much mana as you can get, plus I rarely had more than one creature on the field and 6 mana is way too costly for two cards, and you also lose a land. mana is super important in this deck, and the blighted lands are taking away from its potential.

I added the 4 fetchlands and it is incredibly better. Thank you!

No problem, I like this deck and it has some potential

What would you remove if you wanted to add Sphinx of the Final Word, simply for the fact that it makes it impossible to counter spells while its in play? Fantastic deck btw

Very good question FABIOSCP1993 I think I might go with removing Willbreaker from the sideboard, move Icefall Regent over and add Sphinx of the Final Word to mainboard. Great idea, thank you!

Purple_Mage says... #21

Hey man, I'd keep atleast 2 of Icefall Regent in the sideboard. Good for boarding in against pesky creature decks, tapping down opponents Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger's or Nantuko Husk's. As always just a thought :).

You were right after testing it Purple_Mage. I added them back before Grand Prix. Ended up using it in GPNYC today. It went fairly well for a first time at GP and a major standard event. I missed a handful of cues with Ojutai that definitely would've made differences and When I have the mana to cast Painful Truths and Oath of Jace, do it. I passed for a draw and there was a big burn spell with Pyromancer's Goggles that lost me the 3rd game in that round. In all I went 2-1-6. The draw was in overtime and I could've won that provided turns.

I mainly went to test this baby and got a great suggestion to mainboard Languish and tips on actually playing the cards like I mentioned above. Thanks man!

Glad to hear you had a good time at the GP. Still a big fan of this deck. Good job

I will never understand why people play Swift Reckoning over Immolating Glare...

haberdashdsgn says... #25

If I tap a creature down then I can destroy it. Icefall Regent or any spell that taps. Still a good suggestion though!
