U/R wizards decklist I came up with at the start of Guilds of Ravnica. Get in early chip damage with Ghitu Lavarunner and Viashino Pyromancer, then start burning them down with the multitude of burn spells we are running in this list. Use more burn or burn/pump (this list runs Integrity / Intervention, obviously only for the Integrity part, there is no way to even cast Intervention. But 1 mana give Adeliz +2/+2 and all other wizards +1/1 or 1 mana give Wee Dragonauts +4/+2 both sound super good to me.) in conjunction with Adeliz or Wee Dragonauts to finish off the game.
This list includes 2x Expansion / Explosion, which is probably normally not played in this deck. Here is why I think it deserves a few spots, maybe even more than 2:
It is an extremely flexible card.
Great in combination with Risk Factor (5mana deal 8 or deal 4 & draw 3 or draw 6 all seem amazing)
Great in combination with our burn, especially with a 1-mana Wizard's Lightning. (3 mana deal 6 to any target!)
Great in combination with Integrity (3 mana +4/+4 AND in addition either +2/+2 for all our guys when targeting Adeliz or +4/+0, so all together +8/+4 when targeting Wee Dragonaut)
Some questions / things I am thinking about.
Maybe too few lands?
Realistically speaking though, we don't really need to hit more than the first 3 landdrops on curve to function well. Drawing our 4th and 5th lands a bit later is not that big of a deal.
Considering that I think that both Integrity and also Expansion are great fits for the deck, maybe I should try to include playsets (or at least a 3rd copy each) into the deck. But that would maybe make the deck too inconsistent, as you need stuff on the board to make it work. With the current deck version, it is also very possible to just burn them out with nothing on board, solely depending on our draw. I also thought about running Maximize Velocity for shits and giggles, only to give Wee Dragonaut Haste, then pump him up further and go for those sweet unexpected otks. But, this also feels way too gimmicky.
The sideboard does not seem optimal yet, although I like the direction where it is going.
Let me know what you think about the deck and if you have any recommendations or different card choices to consider.
