my current standard mtga deck :)

i usually build my decks around one card i find that i think is dumb and gimmicky. this time around it's this wonderful girl obsessed with the number 13.

dimir control shell that's meant to play Triskaidekaphile and stall out until you can get the 13.

Most of the time my strategy is just

1. Remove everything off the board
2. Stop them from drawing cards
3. Play Triskaidekaphile
4. Cast Sea Gate Restoration   when it's the 7th card in hand
5. Win because no one can read the cards

or just cast Toxrill, the Corrosive and watch people scoop because he's unstoppable. Such a great card.

Some underrated players in here

Good cards Show

Check for Traps more impressive to me than Duress despite being higher CMC. Being able to exile whatever creature their hand is relying on is worth the extra turn to me.

Ascendant Spirit got removed for Shambling Ghast for more EXPERIEMNETNATL stuff. Seems okay so far.

Alchemist's Retrieval is incredibly underrated. 1 mana bounce something you control, or 2 mana boomerang that targets permanents. Bretty gud. I can see arguments for Divide by Zero, but this one is more useable to me.

Test of Talents. I do not need to tell other blue players how great this card is. Sometimes I cast it early game just to peek at their hand. Absolutely amazing card. Casting this against izzet alrund decks is free dopamine.

Toxrill, the Corrosive is fucking incredible probably because of how popular white is in Arena. He's very difficult to remove outside of black, and because I run counter-spells it doesn't matter if you are able to remove him, the question is if I will let you. while he's out he effectively stops creature based decks until they can deal with him, is a strong blocker on his own, and can draw you cards in a pinch. Absolute powerhouse.

Downsides:

Super luck based. Sometimes you'll get a hand full of cards that stop whatever your opponent is NOT doing. EG, 2 Meathook massacres against Izzet Alrund. Sometimes you just get super unlucky with draws. It's probably because the deck revolves around the number 13, I don't put that much thought into it anymore.
