This deck is my pride and joy, my spare no expense, it must be perfect deck.

My first EDH deck ever built into the best control and card advantage deck I could make it. It's not as combo focused as most Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind decks. I don't run Wheel of Fortune or Mindmoil either. In fact, by looking you might even think this deck would be better if it was helmed by a blue commander. But I find that it works.

When I built this deck I thought to myself "How would Niv-Mizzet fight? I read through the original Ravnica books, and the RTR short stories, and came to a conclusion: Niv-Mizzet wouldn't fight. Through the use of his Overwhelming Intellect (which is ironically no longer in the deck) he would simply tell his opponents what they could and couldn't do before crushing them with his infinite knowledge.
