Sideboard

One day an innocent young mage was walking through the woods on his way home from the Market. Suddenly a shadow fell on his path. The woods quieted and everything was still. A demon had arrived. The Demon told the young mage that for a small favor, nothing really, The Demon would grant him unmeasurable power. The foolish headstrong mage accepted and did the favor. Afterward, to his delight, the Demon kept his word. But though the mage became powerful beyond measure, The clever Demon subtly corrupted his soul. The mage became a wicked creature, and used his power to abuse others. Hence, this deck was made.

The whole idea is to play your small creatures like Bloodghast, Blood Artist, Gatekeeper of Malakir, and Vampire Nighthawk in the opening turns to stall, while trading life for cards with Dark Confidant, Sign in Blood, and Phyrexian Arena. Once you have enough cards out ramp up with a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, a Crypt Ghast, or a Liliana of the Dark Realms and play Griselbrand or a Demon of Death's Gate and it's game over. As a little insurance, I have Doom Blade, Go for the Throat, and Victim of Night, which keep me alive in the early game.

Sideboard Explained: Empty the Pits and Underworld Connections are for decks heavy on discard or removal.Obviously Bad Moon is for non-black decks and you can side in the hero's downfalls against black, artifact, or decks heavy on beastys.Drown in Sorrow is for agrro weanie and Gray Merchant of Asphodel is for Slower decks to play in the late game.

Hope you enjoy! +1's and comments appreciated. ;P
