Planeswalker (1)

Instant (1)

Breya, Etherium Shaper enables many combos between the colors she lets us play and her own abilities, and can also protect us if needed by gaining us life or removing threats. The goal of the deck, though, is to tutor out a combo win in the first few turns of the game.

Combos:

Animate Dead + Worldgorger Dragon combined with Breya herself, Impact Tremors, Reckless Fireweaver +any artifacts on the board ends the game, as we can infinitely flicker our board to burn our opponents off of ETB triggers or by using Breya's ability to burn our enemies repeatedly. Animate Dead can be substituted for Dance of the Dead or Necromancy; in fact, I like Necromancy better because it can win at instant speed.

Ashnod's Altar + Breya, Etherium Shaper + Nim Deathmantle generates infinite thopters, infinite colorless mana, infinite life gain and infinite damage, just send Breya to the graveyard instead of the command zone when she dies. Also works with Krark-Clan Ironworks in place of the altar.

Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry + Time Sieve is one of the weaker combos of the deck due to the mana investment it needs, but it does the job just fine. Nice because it can be completely tutored out by a Saheeli Rai ultimate.

Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek + Ashnod's Altar + Scullclamp gives us infinite colorless mana, infinite thopters, and draws our entire deck. Also works with Krark-Clan Ironworks. A nice alternative to Time Sieve, but cannot be completely fetched by a Saheeli ultimate as it is a 4-piece combo.

Deadeye Navigator + Palinchron or Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake generates infinite mana provided we have at least 3 lands, and Grand Architect + Pili-Pala does the same for a U investment. Infinite mana = infinite Breya casts = win.

Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter + any mana rocks (Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, etc.) that produce collectively 2+ mana = infinite dramatic reversal casts, and any additional mana rock that produces mana (Mox Opal is definitely the rock of choice here for colored mana) can produce infinite mana. This can then lead to either an infinite-storm-count storm spell, or can be used to fuel our other combos. I currently only run Mind's Desire for storm cards because the other win conditions are too narrow, and it is easier to just make infinite mana and bomberman with Breya herself.

Breya has an insane amount of other combos at her disposal, but we don't want to stretch the deck too thin, which we are already risking with this many combos as is. The rest of the deck is devoted to protection, tutors and draw to get a combo while staying alive.

Card Engines

Sensei's Divining Top is pretty obvious, Thopter Spy Network is pretty solid and provides tokens to protect us, Skullclamp is great with Breya and the aforementioned Spy Network, Padeem, Consul of Innovation protects our board from spot removal and will inevitably draw us extra cards since we are an artifact-based deck (note, was more useful when things like Mycosynth Lattice were in the deck, since we now risk turning off the draw, but those cards are just too slow and the protection still makes it worth running him).

Thinning Cards

Street Wraith and Gitaxian Probe let us play a 97-card deck, and the probe even gives us information. Contingency Plan lets us dig down 5 cards, fixing our draws and ditching what we don't need (even pitching worldgorger). Faerie Miscreant and Glint-Nest Crane give us chump blockers while digging a bit deeper into our deck. Solemn Simulacrum is just pure value, as he ramps and color fixes for us (thinning at the same time), provides a chump blocker or sac outlet, and cycles when he dies. Trinket Mage is also great since it can fetch us any of the basic artifact lands or any other mana rock (or skullclamp) we might need.

Tutors

Entomb/Corpse Connoisseur/Buried Alive bury our Worldgorger dragon, and buried alive can bury up to two more cards deemed unnecessary to draw if needed. Dimir Infiltrator tutors up a 2 drop (Nim Deathmantle, Thopter Foundry, Sword of the Meek, Time Sieve, Animate Dead/Dance of the Dead, Pili-pala, Impact Tremors), Mystical Tutor fetches Entomb and any protection spell, Enlightened Tutor fetches Nim Deathmantle, Thopter Foundry, Sword of the Meek, Time Sieve, Animate Dead/Dance of the Dead/Necromancy, Pili-pala, Impact Tremors, and Ashnod's Altar/Krark Clan Ironworks. Saheeli Rai ult fetches the entire thopter/sword combo in one fell swoop, as well as the nim deathmantle/altar combo (just add breya), while Tezzeret the Seeker fetches any one piece of it, and can be reused if he lives. Saheeli also provides nice value from her +1 scry. Inventors' Fair can gain us some life but more importantly tutors for any artifact in the deck. Whir of Invention can also complete any artifact-based combo on demand. Tolaria West can grab us any 0 drop, so it can fix our mana (colored lands/mox opal), ramp us (mana crypt), and even act as the most expensive tutor ever by grabbing an inventor's fair and then tutoring an artifact. Clunky, but works in a pinch.

Protection

Silence is an amazing set up card, forcing them to have an additional counter on your combo turn, for only 1 more mana. Counterspell is counterspell, and Render Silent is counterspell + silence. Both good cards. Counterflux is uncounterable protection and also nips storm in the bud. Dispel can save us against something like storm in a pinch but is mostly used to counter opposing countermagic, as is Mental Misstep. Swords to Plowshares can stop us from losing to creature-based combos, like Sharuum the Hedgemon loops and other threats.

Value

Daretti, Scrap Savant gives us a way to pitch Worldgorger when we inadvertently get stuck with it in our hand, and otherwise provides excellent value by digging through the deck and letting us reuse artifacts we might need. Open the Vaults can help us recover from board wipes and can also gain us super value when we dump lots of artifacts into our grave. Buried Ruin is a budget Academy Ruins.

The deck is a bit inconsistent currently, especially needing 4 colors just to play Breya, but it is a fun and unique(ish) deck that can hold its own in competitive circles and stomp on casual decks.

Suggestions

Updates Add

Took out the Deadeye Navigator + Palinchron /Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake package because it was too mana intensive and ultimately slow and frail. Took out Fellwar Stone and Exotic Orchard because their fixing was too inconsistent and I didn't need as many mana rocks. Took out Buried Ruin because the utility was negligible and costly and the colorless mana was cumbersome. Removed Reckless Fireweaver and Disciple of the Vault since they do nothing in a vacuum, and we have better ways to trigger their effects anyways. Solemn Simulacrum costs a whopping 4 mana, so I am testing the deck without it for now, despite all the great things I've said about it. Mental Misstep got removed for being too narrow, and my meta somewhat shifted a bit away from must-counter 1-drops. Would be excellent as a sideboard option, though.

Added in Spire of Industry and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth as better lands. Added Isochron Septer + Dramatic Reversal Package because it is easy to assemble, fast, and works well with many combos including our staple bomberman combo with Breya. Also added in Mind's Desire to combo with isochron scepter package to set up another combo when Breya is unavailable (i.e. under a Pithing Needle). Behold the Beyond sculpts a winning hand on it's own, so I added it in despite it's high mana cost. Duress and Collective Brutality are excellent defense options, and the latter even has the added benefit of getting random Worldgorger Dragons out of our hand. Felidar Guardian combos with Saheeli Rai so I added it as a temporary placeholder for a Street Wraith or something. It can provide some interesting interactions on it's own, too, but otherwise is unimpressive. Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip, on the other hand, is amazing and does everything I want a card to do. 'Nuff said.
