I have never been a big fan of standard but I don't see any reason to avoid it if I can carry over a budget deck as the blocks rotate. I decided to pilot Mono Black Aggro and I feel that I should be able to carry it over for a long time in standard. Granted this isn't necessarily the most optimal set list but its comprised of almost all cards that I already had in my collection.
