@gooddemon87 I do like all of those idea's, the primary reason I was running Thassa, God of the Sea was simply because I liked her upkeep scry trigger, but testing showed this to be a more efficient way to run the deck. The Eidolon of Blossoms netted me over 10 cards in a single turn in one playtest.

running blue just for dictate of karametra seems bad, i dont think this deck needs either of the dictates...evolutionary leap is good to keep you in creatures until you hit starfield/sigil (block then sacrifice). also i'd take sylvan caryatids over elvish mystics

Running blue for Dictate of Kruphix, not Dictate of Karametra. I feel that the idea is solid, as I want the deck to be mostly enchantments, not creatures. Not to mention, they both have flash so they come in when I need them to, and having blue in the deck allows me to bluff that I have a Dissolve or Silumgar's Scorn up.

you should already be generating enough card advantage from your eidolon of blossoms...dictate of kruphix is not only blue but double blue, meaning the mana requirements to reliably cast it are quite high. Dictate of karametra is occupying an already crowded five mana slot

That's a fair enough argument, I have considered cutting the Dictate of Kruphix for Boon Satyr's, but leaving the blue producing lands (sans island) in order to keep the bluff up, not to mention I do like the fact that it allows me to scry.

I'll playtest the deck a few more times to see if I want to change Dictate of Karametra for anything, as it is I do enjoy the mana acceleration it provides, it allows for explosive turn 4-6 plays if I can stay ahead of my opponent.

Dictate of Heliod ? Also Hushwing Gryff in the side board seems self defeating? Maybe some Hallowed Moonlight?

@CaptainCaveman I thought about running Dictate of Heliod the problem that arrises is that it also falls in the 5 drop slot of my other enchantments, and spear was a cheaper alternative. Hushwing Gryff in the side is slightly self defeating, but it does stop the abzan match up in it's tracks. I'll simply remove Sigil of the Empty Throne when I bring in Gryff to minimize it's impact on myself. Hallowed Moonlight is also self-defeating to a smaller degree, but I think I can try it out.

Why the extra scry lands? Why not Windswept Heath? Is the scry worth the tapped lands?

@joekeny Temple of Enlightenment replaced with Blossoming Sands. Temple of Mystery replaced with Windswept Heath

Hallowed Moonlight does nothing to you if you use it right. I mean if you're going against a CoCo deck drop Hallowed Moonlight when they use Collected Company boom anything they pull needs to be exiled or they need to graveyard them.

Like I said, it's a lesser degree. It stops me if I want more angels from Sigil of the Empty Throne at the end of their turn, but the benefit greatly outweighs any con that it would provide. I've added 2 to the sideboard already.

You say you will take out the sigil for the gryff so it wouldnt hurt you, but it wouldnt hurt you in the first place because the sigil is based on casting the enchantment, not etb. I would take out 2 of the eidolon of blossoms for the gryff when the time comes.

Ah, I didn't even read that correctly. Yea, that's a much better choice, thank you.

I think the mana curve is a bit too high... Might want to work on that, nice deck btw!

@EssTea I do have 10 5 drops in the deck, but I think it plays fairly well even with that large amount, since I run the playset of elvish mystic and Herald of the Pantheon to help to offset those costs. Thank you for the advise _

@corbinc23 Ajani's Chosen isn't standard unfortunately, otherwise it would have a side board spot if nothing else.
July 23, 2015 3:18 a.m.
I don't really get the idea behind Dictate of Karametra it costs 4-5 mana so if you can cast it you have all the mana you Need. This card just slows you down and can benefit the oppenent more than you. Instead I would run Zendikar's Roil as it apply constant pressure to the oppenent.

@Finnithy The reason I prefer Dictate of Karametra is that it has flash, and if I have an Eidolon of Blossoms out, it gives me the mana I need to repeatedly play spells. I don't care much for Zendikar's Roil as I'll only be playing 1 land a turn, while I will almost always be playing more than one enchantment spell a turn for Sigil of the Empty Throne and Herald of the Pantheon triggers. Not to mention, if I do have a Sigil of the Empty Throne on the field, flashing in a Dictate of Karametra allows me to have a 4/4 angel in order to block, or just so it won't have summoning sickness when it makes it to my turn.

Dictate of Karametra is good but I would suggest cutting at least one for a Dictate of Heliod as it can also flash in AND make your 4/4 angel into a 6/6 angel!

Take out the Thassa, God of the Sea. It is unlikely you will actually be able to obtain that much blue devotion in this deck.
-2 Thassa, God of the Sea +1 Banishing Light -1 Temple of Mystery -1 Island +3 Eidolon of Blossoms
