Yes I believe so, which is why I'm thinking of what to remove to put in one Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. I may drop 1 Goryo's Vengeance for him but goryo's is nice because it's a way to have us go off at instant speed if we have Seismic Assault out and target The Gitrog Monster or if we have Gitrog out and target Borborygmos Enraged. As long as one of the two discard outlets are on the field and we have Dakmor Salvage in grave with a land in hand or we have Dakmor in hand, we win.
We can win on turn 3 as well if we have the right hand.T-1: Stomping Ground(or fetch into stomping ground), Birds of ParadiseT-2: Blood Crypt(or fetch blood crypt), Seismic AssaultT-3: Faithless Looting put Gitrog in grave, Goryo's Vengeance gitrog back, discard Dakmor Salvage to seismic assault, then gitrog draw trigger, dredge Dakmor salvage back.
So opening hand should be this for T-3 win Fetch or shock, fetch or shock, Dakmor Salvage, Seismic Assault, The Gitrog Monster, Faithless Looting, Goryo's Vengeance

Looks cool, dude. Only thing I can thing of is maybe Beast Within as a removal spell, since you gotta have a few in Modern. +1'd

Thanks man. It was actually one of my ideas for sideboard, as I'm still working that out. I'm also not sure if I want to take out lightning bolt main for Flame Jab and put bolts in the side for aggro

This might sound odd, but perhaps a few copies of Desperate Ritual? The thing I feel would be most difficult with this deck is to manage the RRR cost of Seismic Assault, and a ritual can help with this as well as accelerating into your Hypnotoad. Plus, Desperate Ritual can be spliced onto Goryo's Vengeance to give you both parts of your combo at once.

I've never actually had problems getting triple red but I will consider it. That said, I may be moving towards dropping the vengeance out as it is usually sitting in my hand waiting to do something. That's 4 more slots I could put another eternal witness, countryside crusher, and 2 Nahiri then just replace some basics with shocks. Or I could just run 4 abrupt decay to deal with a lot of problems this deck has, instead of keeping a situational card in.

This is a very strong deck. Early game is a tad weak, but since you have great synergy with your land cards, I can imagine you handle your own quite well.
Beware of library burn

I'm actually looking to strengthen my early game by maybe removing birds/carytids. Any suggestions?

I want to shit more towards control I think. Like, I may replace crusher with some board wipes and such. Trying to figure it out. Please help

This deck is absolutely ridiculous, I love it! Have you thought about some Dryad Arbor's? I also think that increasing the numbers on Ghost Quarter and Abrupt Decay, especially considering this deck is weak in early turns, would do wonders for Git-gud. Grim Flayer is pretty crazy, especially considering he can give you a possible draw a turn and he can get big fast. He should be dropping in price soon when he leaves Standard. I've been thinking about building with Gitrog using Hermit Druid's and cards with Retrace and landcycling.

Hey thanks for the up vote and the suggestions. My orginal version actually played Birds of Paradise and Sylvan Caryatid but I found that even though it sped things up a little, they always immediately died to bolt or path etc. and I never even got to tap them for mana. So I decided on more control. I'm actually probably going to up the main board Abrupt Decay, as the deck could use more control. And hopefully I'll open a Damnation in MM3. I'll consider Grim Flayer getting a spot, though a little unsure of it in this deck. Definitely a good thought. And while I like the Seismic Assault combo, I may change it to Molten Vortex due to easier color requirements and while it doesn't go pseudo infinite, it's easier to consistently damage people.

That makes sense, I was about to comment on the restrictive mana cost. This is a really nice build though. Nice job.

Those bicycle lands will definitely do a ton for Gitrog, I'm planning on adding some to both my Standard Gitrog deck and my Modern Gitrog Smallpox deck. The hype is real.

Golgari Thug worth a thought?
Can put your important creatures back on top of deck from the graveyard when it dies and Dredge stuff when you need it to.
I also quite like Smallpox in a Gitrog deck, not sure if it suits your build though.

redbird97, I'm actually curious as to why you don't like looting in this deck. It does so much for it, imo. I am debating more bolts in my side, though. My side has a bit more removal options

I know it lets you cycle through your deck, but I prefer removal or damaging the opponent more.

With the Dakmor Salvage dredge ability. could you potentially win instantly with gitrog+discard outlet? And technically even beat infinite life combo with an eldrazi titan to cycle the graveyard?
