@lonker: I agree with you that Magnify is a good option. Took out the Hornet Sting, thanks for the suggestion!

@X_Animis_X: I'll hop over to your deck momentarily to take a look (:

@ticked-off-squirrel: Tel-Jilad Fallen is definitely relevant but for the interest of speed I'm not sure if he'd fit in this deck specifically. I can certainly see him in the sideboard of a blue/green control infect archetype. Thanks for the suggestion tho

@ecologicodin457: Yeah it seems mono green and blue/green are both really good. Still hard to say which is better though, since both have very strong creatures (Glistener Elf, Blight Mamba, Blighted Agent) and each archetype has their own way of getting the poison counters through (Trample with Vitality Charm, Predator's Strike, or unblockable with Aqueous Form).

@Scorprix: Thank you for the suggestion! I have no idea how I missed such a STRONG sideboard option for infect! 4x going in the sideboard for sure.

Ever try Become Immense? That'll be the cherry on top!

Sorry I just realized this is pauper lol but leaving a +1 anyway

would you consider flashing blue for Blighted Agent?

December 6, 2016 11:51 p.m.

Felixlives says... #5

Blue would open you up to distortion strike brainstorm gprobe and blighted agent. Great deck I love infect and pauper

@jaiaisaiah: Yes, I've considered making this blue/green but I decided to sacrifice some reliability for raw speed, which sets this infect deck apart from others.

@Felixlives: Thanks! Yeah much discussion about splashing blue for those. Definitely adds reliability but I'm still convinced that speed really makes this deck competitive.

But vulnerable to disruption and it doesn't take much to derail the plan of infect. Gprobes at least should be in here reguardless of a splash for blue. Knowing if the coast is clear has often been the deciding factor in a match with my modern infect deck.

I didn't read all the comments, but no Lotus Petal? You can cut a cpl Forest. Really speeds up the T2 Victory. J/s.

4x Petal, 2x Tranquil Thicket and 4x Gitaxian Probe help speed things up to crazy.

Probe should be in every Infect deck but that's just IMHO.

+1

probe should be in every infect deck. I have a hard time ever siding them out. even in agro matches where 2 life is crucial it is game changing to know whats in your opponents hand before you go for the kill.

@Felixlives: You're absolutely right, the problem is the deck is really tight right now, so what would you recommend taking out for 4x Gitaxian Probe?

@Burl: Nice suggestions, completely forgot about Lotus Petal xD So do you think -4 Forest, +2 Lotus Petal, +2 Tranquil Thicket seems reasonable?

December 30, 2016 6:38 p.m.

lonker says... #11

BMpatrol Actually, it's -6 Forest, +2 Tranquil Thicket, +4 Lotus Petal.

And for Gitaxian Probe, I'd personally cut Predator's Strike, but it's your pick.

BMpatrol

So your lands should look like this:

4x Lotus Petal

2x Tranquil Thicket

12x Forest

18 total mana sources

You can run low Forests so long as you have Thickets, Petals, and Probes. The slot you free up is for Gitaxian Probe

I would also recommend:

-2 Predator's Strike

+2 Llanowar Augur

And

-2 Giant Growth

+2 Rot Wolf

Laslty, (meta depending) sideboard:

Gut Shot or Sandstorm over Vitality Charm

Fog for a mirror match if your playing against infect

Relic of Progenitus is just better (imo) than Tormod's Crypt as it can be used multiple times and replaces itself

Noxious Revival is always another option.

Hope this helps.

Mono-Green Infect

Here's my pauper version in case your looking for more ideas.

Burl says... #14

Oh my bad. Noxious Revival not pauper legal.

December 31, 2016 6:26 a.m.

This is supposed to be Pauper... So, what's with the three uncommons and a mythic?

January 5, 2017 10:18 p.m.

Burl says... #16

They were printed common in another set.

January 5, 2017 10:46 p.m.

okay that makes sense... wait. Lotus Petal though?

January 6, 2017 12:43 a.m.

Burl says... #18

Yeah it was common in Tempest block.

January 6, 2017 4:23 a.m.

oh. wow.

@Felixlives: Makes sense! I'm definitely going to put 4x Gitaxian Probe in then, especially with the recent banning for Modern which means they will go down in price for us Pauper players.

@Burl: Now I'm seeing it... Haha I really like your suggestions, so it will be -8 Forest, +4 Lotus Petal, +2 Tranquil Thicket, -2 Predator's Strike, and +4 Gitaxian Probe. In my playtesting I have noticed that although Llanowar Augur is great bang for buck, it is too predictable, and Rot Wolf is an excellent value play but is too slow unfortunately. Gut Shot is underwhelming in Infect, but I do agree with Sandstorm, so I'll put two in. For Tormod's Crypt, you make a good point so I'll put in Relic of Progenitus as well. Thank you so much for all the great suggestions!

@lonker: Thank you for clarifying, yes I totally agree with this and will update accordingly. Thank you for the great suggestions!

BMpatrol I'm not sure if you should use Relic or the Crypt. Relic can be used over and over, but it still costs one mana, that might wreck your tempo in the graveyard matchups.

January 15, 2017 11:49 a.m.

Burl says... #22

Relic also replaces itself as a cantrip. Both have their advantages.

January 15, 2017 1:04 p.m.

jaiaisaiah says... #23

Predator's Strike should be cut for Larger Than Life.

January 28, 2017 5:15 p.m.

lonker says... #24

jaiaisaiah He prefers instant speed, as it is less obvious for your opponent to predict with multiple creatures on his board.

January 28, 2017 5:35 p.m.

jaiaisaiah says... #25

Ah. I see. That definitely makes some sense.
