To be honest, I only run 6 2-drops in my deck (2 voice, 3 pridemage, 1 scooze) and curve out nicely almost every time. Although I also have 7 mana dorks in my deck. I would say that Kitchen Finks is better than goyf in this deck because although goyf is bigger most of the time, finks has much needed lifegain and isn't soft to removal, whereas without help from your opponent, goyf will never be very impressive. 1 more Voice of Resurgence could be nice as well. I think dropping 4 goyf for 2 more Birds, 1 more Voice, and 1 Eternal Witness? I've found witness to be insanely useful, from bouncing back another company, getting another fetchland, or grabbing back that knight that they just killed. I have never been disappointed to draw it. I know you you have written it off in the past, but trust me, it's useful.

Eh. I kind of want to have games won By T4-6. That's the problem I have. Value engines are really, really good but don't fit into that criteria. Like you could put Eternal Witness into a Bant CoCo list and she'd be great there but people don't do it. Why? Because whilst it's a good card it doesn't fit with the overall strategy of the deck.

The visions can help the Tarmogoyf grow. The good thing with having Tarmogoyf in the deck is that it can be one of the cards that you can side out if it is not helping that much.
I always love maining at least one Spellskite catches my play group off guard most of the time. They tend to get mad that it is main deck and not side boarded and they lose to it.
Why 4 Geist of Saint Traft over 3?
@smackjack, I don't think Gavony Township resets Kitchen Finks. It only puts a +1/+1 counter on it the -1/-1 counter still stays on.

The-Xellos- Gavony Township does in fact reset Finks. The counters DO cancel each other out (effectively removing them).

Thanks GeminiSpartanX, time to find the person that told me otherwise.
704.5r If a permanent has both a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it, N +1/+1 and N -1/-1 counters are removed from it, where N is the smaller of the number of +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters on it.

There was never a single time I was ever disappointed to see a Geist. Ever. Every matchup, every game. Always. I want him in my hand, all the time. Even if he's on the board I want him in my hand too. The only downside is having him on board and then playing CoCo, which is something to consider but no where near likely to enough to lower the count. 3 is ok, but when it comes to a card that is useful versus an awful lot of decks 4 is great - even if it is legendary.

4 Geist of Saint Traft in this deck is the same reason why so many Standard decks are going either 4 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip or 4 Drana, Liberator of Malakir. Useful at any point in the game, and he frequently dies a lot.

Mirran Crusader is pretty nice with Elspeth, Knight-Errant and a couple of exalted triggers. You actually do more damage with a t1 hierarch, t2 crusader, t3 elspeth than if you were to do the same but with Geist of Saint Traft.

I took this (or actually this) to my LGS last monday and was undefeated :). I had 2 Mirran Crusader in the list, and even tho I never got to use him with Elspeth he did an awesome job. I used Gavony Township to make him a 3/3 and i had 2 exalted triggers. My opponent had to chumpblock a couple of turns with Snapcaster Mages before i got through. Actually, I hoped to topdeck Elspeth every game I played, so im considering adding a 3rd :).

Elspeth is so busted in a deck like this haha. Especially with that hexproof geist.

Which will never see play because it has no applications against any other deck NoOneOfConsequence.
Well, lantern control might like it.

Nonetheless, should this ever become a dominant deck, I'll be sure to keep it under my hat as a bit of super-sekrit SB hate.

This is an incredible deck. I wonder how I could make it budget. But overall a +1 from me.

Take out goyf
Replace noble hierarch with birds of paradise and something else.
I think the prices for the lands are expedition lands? But I'm not sure.
December 14, 2015 12:21 p.m.
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Land prices are regular. Expedition lands cost about double what it says.

Expedition lands are in the hundreds. Your price would be double-triple what it says now.

I wonder if there might be space for a few Tectonic Edges given the new meta for this deck. I know the mana is tight, but using KotR to tutor up a tec edge on demand seems like a good ability to have in this deck. Frank Lepore did a Modern Monday using just a GW build, but I think some of the lines of play could be used in this shell too. Check out the match he did against the UB eldrazi deck to see what I'm talking about. Link to abovementioned reference
I know 4 tec edges are out of the question, but maybe 1-2 could work?

I've actually just come back to this deck and I will be changing it.

Cool. Are you still into Modern these days or are you thinking about tapering off your involvement in the format?

Vapor Snag just outright kills you with Worship. Same with Siege Rhino. Infect gets right through it too.
