I wanted to do Kruphix things but to avoid the eldrazi strat for the sake of my meta, i've forgone infinite combos for that reason as well. Ideally i am going to use hydras as a tough looking board state until i can Laboratory maniac or helix pinnacle and then as a last resort i have creatures to crush with. I sorta wanted to hang with hydra tribal just because i think they are cool as hell.
