When that one guys sits down at the table and pulls out his all foil, Japanese, competitive wombo combo deck, you only need look so far as to Scion of the Ur-Dragon , to prove you are a mean mother f**ker that means business. In fact you got two accredited kills and are a double O agent of Mi6. Using Scion's activated ability to search you library and put any dragon in the graveyard gives immediate pressure as well as long term investment with a wide array of recursion to bring the dead dragon's back to life. This is Skyfall.

King's Under the Mountain

All the dragon's are important to the deck, some more than others though. Their abilities to combo off each other when they attack make this deck so strong. Scion of the Ur-Dragon activated ability makes him versatile to any situation.

  1. Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Balefire Dragon removes smaller creatures from the board, even some big scary ones. Conditional he gets though any blockers.
  2. Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Nicol Bolas gets rid of your opponents hand if they are drawing too many cards.
  3. Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Numot, the Devastator shut down fast ramping decks.
  4. Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Ojutai, Soul of Winter lock down scary threats.
  5. Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Silumgar, the Drifting Death kills little tokens, but sometimes the opponents entire board.

The Hoard

Once you have oppressed you opponent enough and feel you are in control of the board, its time to press the attack.

  1. Utvara Hellkite is the first card you are going to want. It makes the dragon attack combos much more potent when they are multiply. The Dragon's strength is in numbers.
  2. Atarka, World Render gives all dragons double strike. This plus Utvara Hellkite means quadruple the dragons. In the hoards this is scary, since most of your damage has evasion (flying).
  3. Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury is great for putting the final nail in the proverbial coffin. When your hoard of dragons come swinging in, there will not be much to stop the insane damage going though.
  4. Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund makes your dragons it even faster with haste, why wait a turn when you can kill them now?

Killing them Softly

This deck has a few combos in it, however I have found the game is dull if I just draw the one card necessary then tutor with Scion ad win the game. Alas , the pieces are still their for the sure fire win if all else fails.

  1. Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Moltensteel Dragon + Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon = death by poison counters. Search for Skittles, hold priority, search for moltensteel. pay however much life for the +1/+0 counters before the second trigger resolves. Then you have a big scary posion dragon going for lethal. This is the lamest of combos, since you win turn 6 if there are no blockers.
  2. Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Hellkite Charger + Savage Ventmaw = unlimited attack phases.

Not Even Dragon's Sleep When They are Dead

So you have just put half your dragons into the graveyard. How you going to get them back? Well though all the recursion spells in the deck of course.

  1. Bladewing the Risen , Yore-Tiller Nephilim , Pulsemage Advocate and Teneb, the Harvester as reusable sources.
  2. Breath of Life , Fearsome Awakening , Patriarch's Bidding , Stitch Together , Unburial Rites , Whip of Erebos and Marshal's Anthem as single use recursion.
  3. Grimoire of the Dead works as hand filter and recursion. get a expensive dragon, toss him in the graveyard for later.

The Gadgets and Gizmos

Most of the meat has already been covered, but some cards ad the extra little bit of utility the deck needs.
