I love this deck, I just wish there was a good way to easily boost your color count for Bloom Tender , with the obvious solution being hybrid costed defenders,
Oona's Gatewarden is the only low costed hybrid costed defender in modern though, and she's pretty lackluster
looking through though, I found Order of the Stars which could be a good sideboard card, it would be very useful against jund or infect by naming green.
very solid deck, super consistent deck, I love it

TallGreg Thanks for the feedback! Yes. I tried to find some hybrid CMCs to maximize Bloom Tender . Unfortunately you're right. Not a ton of useful hybrid CC defenders. I have tried to assure that almost any wincon threat I have in the deck can be cast with infinite green mana and if not, only requires one other color and I usually have something on the field that can give me that one color, if not from a land than a creature.

Still tinkering with the sideboard but I think I'm fairly happy with this one. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

Modern Goblins is definitely existent... Why would you even say that? And the point was protection from aggro, not just specifically Goblins...

Have included it in previous builds. Generally just clogs up the works though. If I go infinite I want to win, not just activate a fatty. Emrakul or a Titan wins me the game with infinite mana.

do you think its possible to modify your deck into a consistent defender/burn one? i was thinking about a non classical burn deck, and your infinite mana defender idea sounds great. instead of emrakul and/or titan for example Blaze or Aurelia's Fury , or simply more Banefire ?

interludium Sure. I would also run Vent Sentinel if going in that direction...

good thing, i start working on it. isn't Vent Sentinel too expensive in your opinion? on the other side there aren't any good cheap red defenders, maybe Wall of Razors . you would take vent sentinel for getting some red mana combined with Bloom Tender ? would be swapping some lands with dual mountains a good idea? thanks for your help

Wall of Razors isn't modern legal unfortunately. While Vent Sentinel is expensive for 4cmc (which is why I don't run it here) if you are ramping and can get it out turn 3 with two or three defenders I would say it's worth it. I actually wouldn't run Bloom Tender in such a build as you really need that red mana. You also need the room for burn spells. Not sure if this would be competitive, but it will likely be fun. Also consider Pyromatics for infinite red mana it's actually the best burn spell ever under that circumstance.

AMAZING! Love this! I hadn't thought of Axebane Guardian for infinite mana!! Brilliant! Love it!

I would remove either Birds of Paradise or Drift of Phantasms to put in Sylvan Caryatid .
It has defender which is key for your deck, which neither of the two above have. It also has hexproof which is huge in modern, and is a mana dork for two mana.

Also Drift is key to tutoring for my combo pieces. Replacing it with Sylvan Caryatid unfortunately wouldn't be a smart move, even with hexproof.

I would consider Hushwing Gryff because you can tutor it with Drift of Phantasms and it completely shuts down any enter the battlefield effects

ty6125 Thanks! That is actually a great suggestion. I run Torpor Orb currently which would be more difficult to remove and cheaper, but the ability for it to be tutored for is invaluable. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey, saw your deck on the ad banner and took a peek. I like the deck and maybe I will take it and modify for casual play. I like the fact that you aren't basing it on fetch lands. Gave you a +1

CrovaxTheCursed why would he even think about siding against Goblins, a deck that doesn't even exist in modern?
