Tata The first game sure, until they see the vulnerability of my defense knowing that I can only protect creatures. The fact is Simic Charm only costs me 1G and 1U and since G is the EASIEST color for me to generate, the difference in the CMC between Mizzium Skin and Simic Charm is negligible to me and given that, I would rather run the more versatile card that protects all of my permanents.

How is that a vulnerability? They Abrupt Decay an enchantment... and you still have a creature that makes a bunch of mana. They've wasted their removal. Even if they notice this "vulnerability" they'll still probably target your creatures instead of going for the enchantment, hoping you won't have Mizzium Skin/something else that costs 1.
I'd also reaaaaaallly consider changing your mana. You have so many cards that come into play tapped. Seriously. Why not run shocks if you think your deck is fast enough to combo off 4th turn?
January 21, 2014 4:18 p.m.
You only have 3 one-drops... your first turn is almost always bad.

Tata If I am playing Freed from the Real on Axebane Guardian I am playing to win the game that turn, so no my opponent wasting their removal is of small consolation. Maybe you should read the deck summary so as to know the plan here. You have criticized the Transmute mechanic which is pretty much one of the engines of the deck, and now you are failing to see the value of Freed from the Real to the strategy of the deck's wincon. Its not just ramp. Losing Freed from the Real means I have lost the opportunity to end the game that turn, so its fairly important that when I am playing it, that I can protect it.
I have four lands that come into play tapped, the other three generally are not. I am already running City of Brass which is costing me life every time I use it, so not looking for any more shocklands.
As to the one-drops, this is why Deathrite Shaman is in the sideboard. Personally, I'm ok with running only 3x Birds in the maindeck.

I have read the deck summary. I'm criticizing your deck's overuse of Transmute, slowlands, and inefficient spells.
I understand Freed from the Reel + Axebane is your big combo. I play it myself in a casual simic deck. It's nothing crazy, nothing complicated, and it's very easy to predict.
I'm beginning to wonder if you've ever played in a Modern tournament. Do you know that fetch + shocks cost 3 life to use and come into play untapped? And do you know how many people do this? Worrying about shocklands hurting you too much because you're already getting hurt by city of brass is pretty ridiculous considering you claim to combo out by turn 4.
Look at the comments above. Your manabase is bad. Accept it. Change it. It's not difficult. This deck will never be competitive until you streamline your land so that you're consistently able to cast your spells.
Why do you run Deathrite Shaman in the sideboard? You have no fetches. It's not mana acceleration. Moreover, there are better cards for graveyard hate, and it's not like this deck can win by incremental damage/lifegain with its abilities. Elvish Mystic would be a way better 1-drop for your deck (assuming you don't want to buy fetches or noble hierarch).
For a deck that's meant to combo out fast, missing your one-drop is completely unacceptable.
This is why Simic Charm is worse than other cards you could run to protect your permanents:
It's turn three and you have Birds and Axebane out. You hit your land-drop for the turn so you can make 5 mana.
You are playing Twin. Or Jund. Or America. I don't care which.
They have an empty field and 3 mana in play because they're waiting for you to do your combo with axebane.
You cast freed from the real on axebane. That takes 3 of your 5 mana. You have two mana left.
In response your opponent bolts axebane.
You tap your remaining two to simic charm.
Your opponent responds with bolt/path/dismember/abrupt decay.
You have not been 3-for-2'd.
You pass turn and cry.
January 21, 2014 5:52 p.m.
Opponents will never Abrupt Decay your Freed from the Reel because you've already won once it's attached to your creature.

Tata has a point. Against T1 decks with control/removal that I've played on Cockatrice, this deck does not do very well.

Gift of Immortality needs to go. It's a waste of mana for this deck--protecting Guardian with this is far too slow.

I think I am putting Dawn Charm in the sideboard which acts as a more versatile Fog.

Have considered in the past but is really expensive for what is just another wincon that could be had for much cheaper.

Rev doesn't work with this deck because you're not an infinite lifegain deck, though the draw your deck would help. But at that point just use BSZ and force opponent to draw infinite and lose.

At the end of the day Staff of Domination provides both infinite draw and infinite life when I have comboed out for infinite mana. Used to run BSG as well but it effectively serves the same purpose as Banefire only it is counterable. I'm actually considering replacing Banefire with Pyromatics as it is even more unstoppable with infinite mana.

Test against T1 decks at a LGS or on Cockatrice before you start fine tuning.
So far, your worst matchups are Twin and UWx control.

You'll also want either Ghost Quarter + Surgical Extraction or Sowing Salt against Tron.

Would Chromatic Lantern be helpful at all? Or are your mana colors already consistent enough with your lands?

bcornett24 The lands and the mana from Birds and Axebane have me pretty well mana fixed. Chromatic Lantern is awesome...just likely not worth its slot in this deck.

Doran, the Siege Tower ends up ruining Kessig Wolf Run , you should only have one of those

I doubt anyone would Abrupt Decay your Freed from the Reel if it's attached to axebane. They'd abrupt decay the axebane to 2/1 for you.
