Creature (4)

This is a simple deck with a focus on getting low casting cost exalted cards out, fast, with Akrasan Squire and Ardent Plea with the win condition being an exalted Daxos of Meletis . He has evasion from creatures that could challenge him and grants lifelink to offset counter attack damage and with the "Damage Race" even without higher casting cost cards other decks contain.

A low casting cost deck has the problem of being outscaled. It's power is in the early game and if that doesn't work out for some reason you need an answer to your opponents beefy dudes. Vanish into Memory and Word of Undoing offer a little in the way of control and getting damage in, delaying your opponents mid-late game. Yet, these two same cards can offer protection from board wipes which would otherwise be the demise of a deck like this. Individual control can be repelled with Hindering Light , Word of Undoing , or Vanish into Memory .

A low casting cost deck has another problem; You play out your hand too quick. What I mean is play all your spells very quickly and very early for advantage in the early game but leaving you gasping for cards later. That's where Vanish into Memory comes into play. A lone attacking exalted creature can do into damage and for the rest of your turn it's still pumped up(your 1/1 is still a 4/4 until end of turn). If you cast Vanish into Memory you would draw 4 cards (In this case) but when you return it to the field you would only discard 1. Thus, card advantage.

Steel of the Godhead is here to ensure the damage race is won with the lifelink and if for some reason Daxos can't get through all the time it grants unblockable for good measure.

The best defense is a good offense.
