I am not a fan of primal surge decks. Things like Krosan Grip, and Beast Within are really important in mono green. It also limits tutoring. Green Sun's Zenith, Chord of Calling, Genesis Wave, Worldly Tutor, Tooth and Nail, Time of Need are all things that really help me.
Not to mention all the amazing sorcery ramp out there.
Omnath was the second EDH deck that I made. If you want to check my build out, here it is. Omnastic
I recently switched to french with it, and it is still one of my favorites.

I can understand why people tend to not like Primal Surge, however' as soon as I switched to surge my win/loss ratio became something like 4/1, i managed to table every game on EDH night at my local hobby shop the day after i changed it, so its working fine for me i think :)
thanks for the feedback though.

What kind of decks are you playing against if you don't mind me asking? Also how many of those games are won by the primal surge, and how often is it countered?
If surge is your direction you absolutely must have Boseiju, Who Shelters All. Hall of the Bandit Lord is also amazing.
Some other suggestions I would make are Woodfall Primus greater good's best friend. Hall of Gemstone great against counters/multi color decks, Acidic Slime, Birthing Pod get it while it's cheap, and Yisan, the Wanderer Bard

there's alot of aggro decks, the control style decks are less blue and more white/black, I'll typicaly be able to cast my things but not be able to do much with them as they are prime targets for removal.
Boseiju, Who Shelters All is a card I've been meaning to pick up, although it almost seems like a waste if I only use it once ever.
Acidic Slime and Woodfall Primus are on my list of maybes along with Reclamation Sage and Sylvok Replica for artifact/enchantment removal.

out of 5 winning games, i'll usualy win with Primal Surge 2 times, win with Omnath, Locus of Mana once, and win with somthing else (be it eldrazi pressure or Helix Pinnacle) 2 times.

Yeva, Nature's Herald means that spot removal cannot keep your commander down. Same for Vedalken Orrery though perhaps less synergistically.

Doubling Season works very well with Helix Pinnacle and general mana

+1: Worth it for the name alone, nice Family Guy reference ;)
However the deck is easily worth it as it looks cool.

I feel like mono green edh only benefit from adding Craterhoof Behemoth
September 1, 2015 9:14 a.m.
Sylvan Library gives you access to card selection and potential draw power. I agree that Craterhoof Behemoth is a great way to push damage through. Whisperwood Elemental gives you a steady stream of creatures. Garruk, Caller of Beasts can put something cheeky into play, and can also put a tonne of dudes into your hand. Genesis combos with Survival of the Fittest by negating the drawback of Survival, but it is also bloody expensive.

Good ideas, but the deck isn't meant to have tonnes of creatures out. I'm more going for voltron with Omnath, Locus of Mana.
The deck already draws a lot of worried looks at the table, I'd rather avoid full on hate.

+1 for the name aloneAnd the deck is pretty cool tooMono-color commander decks are some of the most fun to build, and play IMO

You should use Snow-Covered Forests instead of normal Forests so Extraplanar Lens only helps you.
