Illusory angel is a trap card. From my experience there is almost always a better card to cast. Removal, more discard, etc. Ive never had a deck with rhis many one drops though.

All you can do is test it and see

Cool idea, I really want to build a dimir deck I'd suggest with the additional card draw your gaining from tormentor and dictate Chasm Skulker for a quick big creature that when dies grants you a load of 1/1 islandwalk squid tokens. Maybe Thassa, God of the Sea for scrying and making your flyers or skulker if added unblockable. Black Cat maybe for a cheap creature that when dies forces your opponent to discard a random card. Other than that looking good +1 from me.

Also just realised with Chasm Skulker whenever waste not is triggered for its card draw that will also pump the skulker so even bigger creature.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Had been considering Chasm Skulker lately. I drew 4 soon after M15 released, so I guess it's a sign. I just can't figure out what to drop in order to make room. Tried out 2 Illusory Angel, but they were just as consistant as the pair of 5 CMC Tormentor Demon that they replaced. The Illusory Angel is indeed a trap card for this deck.

A decent creature that you may consider is Dakra Mystic . It is another form of draw, for both you and your opponent. It also is a decent form of information and disruption as you can control whether or not your opponent draws that card. Another decent card you may consider is Siren of the Silent Song . It also is another form of hand disruption along with a mill 1 attached. I do agree with the Skulker going in, as it can be a secondary finisher. Have you considered Whelming Wave or AEtherspouts as another form of mass removal post rotation? Also something you may consider is a Profane Memento or 1-2 of the Staves as a form of stabilization. Last note for sideboard, Stain the Mind ? Fantastic disruption, not a terrible cost, and could possibly just win you the game by removing their win-con?

Anyway, love the idea, played it myself! +1 from me :D

Thanks for the suggestions. I've always loved Dakra Mystic, and I think I might go with +2 Dakra Mystic -2 Indulgent Tormentor. In sideboard I will go +2 AEtherspouts -2 Siren of the Silent Song. Still trying to find room for Profane Memento and Stain the Mind.

you may be better off with a negate over the denial so you dont have a dead card till you can get a creature to stick, other than that I like it! 1 from me

Thanks for the encouraging words, everyone! Good suggestion, Bostrider. My thoughts for Stubborn Denial was to aim for a turn 7 Dragonlord K, but waiting an extra turn isn't as bad as having a potential dead card. Will test it against my roommates. A small sample, sadly.

thats my other point about denial. if you would cast dragonlord turn 7 with no other creatures power 4 and they counter it, dragonlord isnt on the board for denial to be a hard counter... denial i think works best in the temur aggro builds and doesnt have much place elsewhere.
