Have you ever had a paper cut, they really hurt. Now imagine that but constant. That's what the premise of this deck is, Nekusar is going to help us throw cardboard at our enemies until they are no more. To have pure paper cut murder I decided to not build around the wheel theme, as id much rather watch the light slowly die out of my opponents eyes then anger them with wheels. Everyone loves cards, right?

Sharpening the cardboard

Nekusar, the Mindrazer and Underworld Dreams are examples of the sharpeners of the cards, they are one of the two most important pieces to have out on the board. The measly one damage doesn't provoke much removal so its best to get them out as early as possible, although Nekusar may be more likely to be removed over any of the others. The slow damage does add up later on in the game as i have had the best success in sniping games towards the end.

Free Stuff!

Who doesn't love free cards? Anvil of Bogardan, Dictate of Kruphix, Kami of the Crescent Moon these are the gifts that keep on giving. Making sure everyone has lots of stuff to read in their hand and pay less attention to reading my board. These are the enablers to the whole deck strategy, that's why there is a bunch of them, on a good day I've only increased card draw by three or four but it can go much further than that. The higher the card draw the more paper cuts are inflicted so this number needs to be as high as possible and for some reason giving free card advantage makes people wanna keep you around more which is exactly the sort of trap we want to make. Onto the less constant gift givers, they still give cardboard but are more picky. Arcane Denial is one of the examples of a NO with a present, like being hit with a really good pie. I also run some more picky gift givers such as Horn of Greed which still gives free cards but isn't a consistent draw step trigger. I should also mention Folio of Fancies although its not a direct gift giver the no maximum hand size helps keep lots of cards around for future murders as well as making our opponents feel less bad about all this new free stuff they just got.

Cardboard stabbing

The cardboard swords of the deck are the one off murders that are scaled by card draw such as Cerebral Vortex or Khorvath's Fury which can be used with large hand sizes to twist the paper knife into the opponent, these should hopefully result in kills as the opponent has been softened by the papercuts throughout the game. A newer M21 card Peer into the Abyss is the only one shot combo in the deck that when used with any of the cardboard sharpeners should just kill an opponent outright, although this isn't the main strategy of the deck it always helps to have a gun if anyone starts to heal quicker then they are cut.

Salt in the wound

I also run "vise" cards that make sure that the papercuts hurt and will bring them closer to death, Black Vise is a good example of this as hopefully this will be at least hitting for three each turn, I also run the owl and Misers' Cage to make sure there is limited escape from the paper. These cards should be used in tandem with the sharpeners but aren't completely necessary to the kill.

Notable extras

Grixis has enabled us to run some other non papercut inflicting cards that are still useful to the deck, board wipes and non gift giving counter spells have been included just to make sure no one else tries to win before they succumb to a papery demise or if they try to hurt anything on my board. The free cast cards help to lull the opponent into a false sense of security. I have also included scaling creatures such as Oneirophage which can be used to push someone closer to death.
