Surprised I don’t see Proud Wildbonder in here. That’s a lot of damage going straight through to the opponent you’re attacking.

I absolutely love the theme and the devotion to sticking to it. I was thinking of doing this exact thing myself with all creatures that do the same or similar things as other types of permanents to maximize synergy. This is going to make my time tooling the deck 1000x faster thank you!!!

Questions:

  • How often do you get messed up by counterspells where you could add a few more securities like Spellbreaker Behemoth and Vexing Shusher?

  • How often do you find yourself needing to refill your hand but can't? Do you think that adding a few more card draw creatures like Beast Whisperer or Drumhunter would help? Or even Grothama, All-Devouring to refill your hand because you fight it with your own creatures on the turn you play it?

Look forward to your response and again fantastic deck!!

Necrocol - regarding your first question, funnily enough I used to run both of those in the past (and Dosan, the Falling Leaf, who just shuts off counterspells entirely if he resolves), but as time passed hard control strategies fell out of favor in my meta, so I was able to cut back. My current list certainly has some pet cards that don't strictly speaking need to be there that could be swapped out for more answers if you expect to play in a permission heavy environment though.

As far as hand refilling goes, I've flirted with including Beast Whisperer at a couple of points (and Drum Hunter I glanced at a few times), but what's always stopped me is the fragility and comparably high CMC - running it out on curve has a high probability of me just not drawing any cards at all because it immediately gets removed. It's why my current sources of card draw are all stapled to legitimate threats in their own right or utility creatures that do something else in addition to the card draw aspect.

Thanks for the feedback! I took some liberties and tried to make the deck well rounded for any meta encountered. I also added a little bit of faster creature ramp and rounding out the curve for faster early game start.

Please check out my list I would love your thoughts!

Have you considered adding a Collector Ouphe to stop artifacts?

Not sure what purpose your PW serves
