I really like the idea of token decks and they seem to have some fairly decent match ups but one thing I've always noticed was that they have a hard time closing out a game so I thought some added reach could help that.
The reason for running RW over BW tokens.
I love the play style of tokens, but I also love the consistency of burn so I threw this love child together. After a good amount of play testing with both decks I realized that BW tokens can hold off usually until a mid game point but then has a difficult time sealing the deal, due to the lack of reach, which is were burn comes in. Essentially you're moving from a token/disruption type of deck (BW tokens) to a more burn oriented aggro deck that still fairs well in the mid game, unlike most burn decks. Your cheap 1/1's can block intimidating fatties for days while your burn and little dudes poke through damage after damage.
Young Pyromancer is an absolute house in this deck, giving you value on almost every card you cast. With a Pyromancer on the field you are essentially getting 2 for 1 on each of your spells. Next we have Boros Charm and Lightning Helix, cards so good burn will splash for them. Now 3 and 4 damage to the face is nice and all but what I'm most excited about is another mode on the Boros Charm; the mode that gives all of your creatures indestructibility. Need to make a crucial block with out losing your defense? Going up against control with sweepers for day? This card seems to do it all for the deck. The super secret deck tech card I'm probably most excited about though is
Massive Raid
. Yes, you heard me, that common from Gatecrash. In token decks it's not at all uncommon to have 5-6+ tokens out and to be able, at instant speed, hit for the amount of creatures you control is a huge plus. If you have 5 1/1 spirit tokens out you can swig for 5 in the air, which will probably go uncontested and burn for another 5 out of no where, not so bad, eh?
This is still in it's early stages of development and molding and I'm still very open to suggestions so please comment below!
