TL;DR: The intention is for this to be a burn deck with a focus on artifacts, that is flexible enough in the sideboard to allow for more defensive or faster offensive play.

There are 14 artifacts and 2 artifact generators in this deck, plenty to fuel the Shrapnel Blasts and act as targets for the Ensoul Artifacts. Hoard-Smelter Dragon and Hoarding Dragons serve as the bombs in this deck, if the game goes that late. Ideally the swarm of cheap creatures should come in, and Shrapnel Blasts with Lava Axe will finish the job. Magma Spray, Sharpnel Blast, and Encrust serve to remove any blockers while the main creature force comes in. Chief Engineer allows my artifact creatures to come in even faster, while Generator Servant can bring out my bombs in a flash.

If the opponent is too heavy in control, cards like Purphoros, God of the Forge and Bonfire of the Damned can be brought in to do damage even faster without needing creatures to last very long. Against aggro decks, more defensive cards like Wall of Frost and Sigiled Starfish can be brought in to help shore up the ground and help hold off a defense while you look to play down the heavy hitters from your deck. Darksteel Forge can be brought in with Chief Engineer if the opponent is heavy on removal, while cards like Lightning Strike and Welkin Tern allow you to speed up the game.
