This deck uses Hardened Scales + Phalanx Leader to crank up low drop heroic creatures. Multiple Hardened Scales means additional counters whenever heroic is activated. Arc Lightning is NOT to be used for creature removal. Instead you hit you're own creatures. If you don't have enough creatures to hit, spill the extra damage over to an opponent directly. Because Heroic effects go onto the stack before the damage is placed, your creatures will grow big enough to absorb the damage.

Example Play:With two Phalanx Leader in play along with a Akroan Crusader and a Hardened Scales You play Arc Lightning and target In order: One Leader, the Crusader, followed by the second Leader. The Heroic effects enter the stack, the last leader you Arc'ed buffs everyone. They get 2 counters because of Hardened Scales.Crusader, generates a tokenLast leader buffs everyone, including the new token. they all get 2 additional counters because this is a new effect for hardened scales to buff. Arc Lightning then resolves and your left with: 2 5/5 Phalanx Leader s a 5/5 Akroan Crusader and a 3/3 Soldier token. Next turn drop Abzan Falconer and swing in for the win.
