Too much mana investment on Astral Cornucopia, otherwise I'd probably mainboard it

Nicish deck. I don't think Grindclock is really right with this, the deck seems a bit more aggro than that.
The split colour sideboard is also a bit concerning... I think blue is better with Ensoul Artifact. If the red is gone, you could also add some counterspells or bounce like Negate or Void Snare.
Have you played the deck at FNM or similar yet? Good luck with the build.

Yeah, played at FNM, went fairly well and placed 3rd. Wasn't too bad overall for a first shot.

Altar of the Brood early on can be a game changer , here is my take on a similar Red Artifacts which initially was going to be UR to fir Ensoul Artifact main board but because of Ugin's Construct requirement i decided to just go mono red.

Can we see FNM stats when they come along? Thanks!

Swiftwater might not be a bad idea (maybe even Shivan Reef's? Also, i'm not sure how i'd post stats on FNM. The store across from me is called Heroes Kingdom, and honestly we don't even have a judge there for our FNM. I'm going to be going to a store in the next city for FNM either this week or next that has a sanctioned judge for the next event i run it in. At that point i'll be sure to post stats from every standard event i run with it! :)

Relly nice deck! Looks like a lot of fun. I've never thought of putting together an artifact deck. Ill have do to it now :p
I made this deck with yours as an outline, please take a look and see what you think KaedynCross. A.A: Artifact Attack :)

How do you feel about Chief Engineer? Might be good here.

The convoke would probably slow the deck down more than it would help it. Otherwise it looks like an interesting card.

Don't like Chief Engineer myself.... Renowned Weaponsmith, may have some interesting applications

Renowned Weaponsmith is honestly incredible in this deck. The only thing it can't pay for in the mainboard is itself and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. Otherwise, can anyone say Turn 3 Scuttling Doom Engine?

It's also already in the mainboard as a four of as of last night. I had other MTG players arguing with me for hours that four of them in the mainboard would still make this a colorless deck, just with a "slight splash of blue that was too sexy to ignore".

I don't understand the turn 3 Scuttling Doom Engine. If you can elaborate on this, I'll definitely consider more strongly buying and running/modifying this deck, I LOVE artifact decks. This is all I can come up with:
Turn1: Island, passTurn2: Island, Renowned WeaponsmithTurn3: Island (or what have you), and now you have 5 mana, where the Scuttling Doom Engine is 6 and I don't see any other opportunity for ramp.

Now if you run Chief Engineer I can see it:
Turn1: Island, pass
Turn2: Island, Renowned Weaponsmith Ornithopterx4
Turn3: Island, Chief Engineer
producing 7 usable mana. It's a perfect hand, but nonetheless.

I honestly can't see Convoke making this deck faster. Chief Engineer just flat out isn't good in the deck with the way it is currently. And i'm able to produce mana faster than that with a less perfect hand.
Turn 1: Land, Springleaf Drum, Ornithopter.Turn 2: Land, Renowned WeaponsmithTurn 3: Land, tap Springleaf Drum, Renowned Weaponsmith and 3 Land, play Scuttling Doom Engine (or Soul of New Phyrexia). Chuckle slightly.

Ah. Definitely investing in this, seems fun and at my local B&M if I said I was running colorless for FNM, the faces...they'd be so priceless xD expecting some janky home-brew. This deck seems fair, I'll be giving it a run and modifying it. +1 from me.

Another interesting potential combo after sideboarding in Ensoul Artifact is:
Turn 1: Darksteel Citadel, Springleaf Drum, Ornithopter.
Turn 2: Land, tap Springleaf Drum for blue, tap your random land, play Ensoul Artifact on Darksteel Citadel. Swing in with a 5/5 Indestructible.
Also, i agree staydank420. A lot of people think it'll be highly janky, but it actually ramps really well with very few cards.

After some heavy playtesting, I like Altar of the Brood well over Grindclock. Pyxis of Pandemonium is really good here too. I'm curious as to what prompted you to take it out? Also, you were totally right about Renowned Weaponsmith over Chief Engineer. The Weaponsmith is the MVP of this deck without a doubt. Personally, I dropped red altogether and threw in Ensoul Artifact mainboard and moved Soul of New Phyrexia to the side (which also dropped Shrapnel Blast but it's no big deal). I personally like my deck to run quick heavy beats then mill as a backup plan. I've also decided to run heavy control in my side so I can transform my deck into a more mono blue control with artifact beats. I've played a couple games where I caught my opponent completely off guard by doing so and locked the game to the point where he could do practically nothing after turn 5. I will say this, its a very strong deck and very out of left field so there is very little tech against it. It does SO much with so little. Quickly becoming my new favorite standard deck.

So, just out of curiosity, how viable is mill in a format defined by delve-cards?
January 28, 2015 11:20 a.m.
I guess the answer to that would be dependent on what you're local meta is. On a global level, there is tech to deal with Delve using this deck like Pyxis of Pandemonium, Reality Shift & Tormod's Crypt (for example), which is one of the reasons why I'm not sold on Grindclock.

Yeah, Scuttling Doom Engine is in the sideboard with Shrapnel Blast. Feel free to mainboard it, i just prefer Soul of New Phyrexia in the mainboard.
