Budget Tron:

This is my take on GiantMonsterGames Budget Urza Tron - $90.

There are plenty of different Tron versions: Tron (utilizing Eldrazi Temple), Tron (using Mindslaver) and Tron are most popular.

I decided to go with a Budget Version of Tron. (To See what makes this deck "budget", look under the "Upgrade Path" Section)

The Idea of all Tron Decks is to assemble all three Urza-Lands (Mine, Tower and Power Plant) as early as Turn 3 or 4, resulting in Mana with just 3 Lands.

Then use that Mana to cast some scary threats to smash your opponents face in. In this case, those threats are big, scary, colourless creatures.

We cannot rely on drawing into natural Tron, that is why we play:
  • Expedition Map and card:Silvan Scrying which allow for tutoring for missing tron pieces
  • Ancient Stirrings helps as well, as it lets us dig 5 deep to find a colorless card. (all Lands are colorless) We can also use it later on to dig up or Finishers, those are all coulorless as well.

This deck is pretty reliable at assembling Tron on turn 3 or 4. (That is, if our opponent does not have a way to disrupt you.)

With Chromatic Sphere and Chromatic Star we have 8 cards that allow us to filter our colorless Tron Mana into any color we want in turn 2. An added benefit is that they replace themselves by Drawing a card when we sacrifice them.
Well, there are 2 Kozilek's Return in the deck to help stay alive against some aggro matchups. I put in Pithing Needle against Combo and Relic of Progenitus against graveyard strategies as a one off. Not to many Decks are capable of winning before you assemble Tron. So just hope for the best.

Perilous Vault is in for the slower matchups (like Prison). Blood Sun protects our Tron and disables Fetch-Lands.

One benefit of Tron is that we can allow to have a lot of answers to other strategies, even before sideboarding.

I hope you have a Finisher in Hand to cast it, if not, start digging with Ancient Stirrings and cycle through your deck with Shperes and Stars. Keep pulling out lands with Map and Sylvan Scrying as well.

Utility:

Tron naturally has ways of pulling out the non-basic land you want, use it to find the utility Land you want.

Fixing and Basics

To be honest: This Deck really is a Budget Version, you can still go cheaper, by going with GiantMonsterGames Mono Green Version. (Budget Urza Tron - $90)

This is as cheap as Tron gets. It is designed for easy and progressive upgrading.

I am still playtesting this Deck. I do not have too much experience in playing it and I am gratefull for any advice you can give.

I am currently thinking about using 2 more basic lands instead of Karplusan Forest. Not sure how it would do (depending on sideboard).

Thank you for Looking at my Deck. Please feel free to comment any questions or suggestions.
