Terastodon isn't super good, you potentially give them enough creatures to trade with you or race you, I would go with Worldspine Wurm over him. the risk might be too much, especially taking damage from your lands.

speaking of lands, you have less to seach for than you have fetch lands. I would cut two deltas for a plains and an island. you only need one island and one plains to go off, so there's no need to run an all-nonbasic land base when someone can just Blood Moon you out of the game.

Yea, I have removed Terastodon! Totally agrees on what you said! But worldspine doesn't seem that good either.... I would like some ETB effects :) Do you think, that 8 Win Cons are enough?

Well, the thing with the lands are, that if I see 5 non-useable cards on the top of my libary, and I don't have any scry cards, I then want to shuffle the library! However, I cutted 1 land. How long should I go?

Are temples worth running? They scry, but are slow and can't be searched for...

I wasn't saying cut a land, I was saying switch out a fetch for a plains or another mana-land. right now you stillh ave more fetches than you have lands to search for.

This is freaking epic XD +1 from me! It seems powerful and consistent! I'll test it out at FNM this week if I my shop decides to have modern!

asasinater13, Well, I know you didn't mention anything about cutting a land, it was just me who found out, that I had too many lands :)

However, you say +1 island, -1 Delta?

rorofat, well it is powerful! T3 Iona is not fun! And yes, It is certainly possible!

Please, test it for me! I don't have the money right now, to go out and buy Emrakul, Iona, Fetches and so on! If you have those card, please test it in a real tournament (Not on Cockatrice ;D), and tell me how you did! :)

yeah, I think that could be good. though you aren't going to end up ever searching/getting all of your lands. maybe it won't matter.

I would also consider getting a plains in here instead of a delta, rather than an island, to protect from blood moon. if you're against a blood moon deck you can just tutor for island, tutor for plains, then be fine with a blood moon hitting the field.

Hmm... I'm not sure, but the only thing drawing you cards here is Serum Visions, suppose you go for the combo and your manifest card runs into a counterspell. You may end up needing a bit more gas to get a second chance to combo off. I think... Anyways, this is just a gut feeling and I may be entirely wrong, but I think I'd run a couple refuels such as Divination. Then again, the question is, in that circumstance, are you dead before getting the chance to combo off again turn 5?...

Damn. It doesn't get much more rambly and uncertain than that. Sorry. But I guess it's food for thought anyways. I just think if the combo can be just a little less fragile, this could conceivably see a protour in a similar way as amulet bloom. I really want this to work.

Wait, why Iona? Instead of Emrakul?

February 17, 2015 4:15 p.m.

The_Raven says... #11

Hm.... I can really see the struggles against a control deck. Getting my Manifest card countered is a GG! I don't really know if I want to draw 2 cards. I can see it being good, but maybe a bit too slow?

What about adding in some Boseiju, Who Shelters All? Making my manifest-cards uncounterable?

What are you thought on Temporal Mastery? Is 3 too many? I feel like having them in my hand too often.... Maybe just as a 1 of?

February 17, 2015 4:16 p.m.

Oh, Emrakul is there... Why not the star of the deck though?

February 17, 2015 4:16 p.m.

The_Raven says... #13

Emrakul-the-Format-Broken, well, since Iona basically says, "Your opponent can't play any spells", which is pretty good! I also play Emrakul! 4 of each! Is there any other creature besides those, that are an instantly win?

February 17, 2015 4:17 p.m.

PValBlanc says... #14

I think boseiju is a pretty good idea actually, that could eke out some of the extra consistency. As for temporal mastery, you've got more than enough library manipulation to consistently miracle them, which will also translate to card advantage, and worse case scenario will certainly be good counterspell bait. I haven't played combo nearly enough to be your best source of advice here, but I think this might just be the only modern list I've seen that can make temporal mastery work.

Why not use Lightform as well? It's in color and the same cmc as Cloudform.

Weird but funny interaction, if you had Iona or Emrakruul in your hand, you could play Lost Hours on yourself to put it in the right place

JLenzen says... #17

Also, Bane of Progress may be a better sideboard option against affinity than Terastodon

I certainly get why Iona's the star of the deck.

Emrakul: Uh oh, here comes a massive flying creature with annilhate. We're all doomed. GG Everyone sighs and walks away

Iona: 'No sir, you can't cast spells. Don't be ridiculous. Only I have that honour. Muahahaha'. Everyone around you laughs at the poor sod who dared to face you as he spends turn after turn begging to be allowed to do something.

Plus you don't get the extra turn from Emrakul if you cloudshift him, seeing as how you're not 'casting' him.

This is an awesome deck by the way. I'd never thought of the interaction between Cloudshift and manifest before. You could cast anything you like on turn 3 ;D

That is a really cool way to use Manifest! +1 to you sir!

Does clouldshift really do that????? Why?

February 18, 2015 6:49 a.m.

The_Raven says... #21

Thanks to all who upvoted! :) 22 up-votes already are amazing!

diateone, yep, it works! Iona who are face down will be turned face up, when she re-enters the battlefield!

JLenzen, Lost Hours is amazing in the deck! I added it, and splashed black! Thanks for that! :)

Jman1001, because Lightform doesn't give hexproof! That is sometimes very important! :)

Jazzyboy, Yep, Iona is the superior! However, Emrakul is quite good! :) And yes, you can flip over any creature!

didn't know that... WOW!! +1 for the lesson hahaha

This deck amuses me :D

Might I suggest Woodfall Primus to replace the Terastodon. It wouldn't hit Affinity as hard, but it is still non-creature permanent removal.

Totaledcow says... #24

This doesn't work the way you think it does. Iona, Shield of Emeria has an "enter the battlefield" ability. Manifested creatures are /already/ on the battlefield, just like morphs. Only abilities on morph cards are relevant to flipping over manifested creatures because they say "as/when turned face up". You can definitely utilize manifest to abuse morph abilities, since manifested creatures may be turned face up for /either/ their morph cost or their casting cost. So for Hooded Hydra to be a 5/5 that turns into snakes is totally legit, but you can't trigger an "enter the battlefield" ability like that of Iona, Shield of Emeria from a manifested state.

Totaledcow says... #25

Ah, i misread and though you were manifesting with Cloudform,Cloudshift would trigger her "enters the battlefield" ability, so this would work. My apologies. I wish I could edit my prior comment.
