General Updates —Dec. 5, 2015

Fixing the general situation between multiplayer and 1v1. Outside of that, cleaning up the primer, about 2/3's done with the large update to that.

Working on slowly foiling or promoing the deck, when money allows.

Upvoters!

We were debating whether Momir Vig would be a better general; thoughts?

I use Momir as my simic commander and he is freakin amazing. It allows me to get the right creatures at the right time, especially when you cast a G/U creature like Prophet of Kruphix, things just get way out of hand. You should test it out if Momir is right for you. You should check out my Simic deck.

I did a four hour session with the group last night and proxied him; he did well enough that I went and picked up a Russian copy today; time for some preliminary edh night testing!

I'm hitting turn 5-8 wins consistently, turns 2-4 with good ramp and a combo piece in hand or god hands.

EDH Night Results

Momir Vig Combo (Me)-1st

Vorel of the Hull Clade Counters-2nd

Chainer Mono-Black Control-3rd

Selvala Soul Sisters-4th

Selvala probably would have done better if they'd quit attacking me early on, had to stop that fast.

Deck is winning consistently on turn 5-8 now, turn 2-4 with a god hand.

@SirFowler What do you think about a Strip lock package in this deck?

@Silverf1sh What do you mean by strip lock?

crucible of world and Strip Mine to interact with things like Cephalid Coliseum, recur my important lands if they are destroyed and win by attrition through land destruction, especially with multiple lands per turn effects.

I think that's up to you. I'm not a huge fan of land destruction because it seems like a low blow to me. If your deck is good, you don't need to prevent the opponent from doing anything in order to succeed. Plus, everyone I know who plays the locks like that are hated because it just doesn't feel like playing a game.

Again, it's your decision.

In my more casual decks I don't care to, but this is played in an all out competitive Meta where anything goes. I just don't know that I have quite the amount of effects that in would want to for this to go off.

Then I say go for it if it's an all out brawl in your meta. I know people in my meta who have Talrand lockdown decks and other crazy competitive decks. It can be a bit tedious, but if it's what everyone is doing, why not?

woah... you broke your formatting. If you do decide to go with Zeganna, your deck may need to be a little more +1/+1 counter based.

Looks fine on mine. Could be a browser choice problem, I'll have to check tomorrow.

If I were to switch to zegana she would only be played after going infinite to get triggers off her and draw my library then and there.
