'Contagious Text' Primer

Deck Identity: A disruptive Rakdos (BR) deck that weaponizes Deadpool’s unique ability to swap text boxes with other creatures. This build is optimized to: - Corrupt opponent commanders and combo pieces - Spread Deadpool’s cursed textbox using Myriad and clones - Donate infected creatures to opponents - Apply pressure through Infect and combat recursion - Exploit sacrifice and graveyard synergies to maintain tempo

Core Strategy: 1. Deadpool enters the battlefield and swaps his textbox with a valuable or problematic creature (yours or preferably an opponent's). 2. The affected creature becomes cursed with Deadpool's textbox: - At the beginning of your upkeep, lose 3 life. - {3}, Sacrifice this creature: Each other player draws a card. 3. Deadpool now has the opponent’s textbox and can exploit that value (draw, mana, combos). 4. You copy or attack with Myriad creatures to create multiple tokens with Deadpool’s textbox, spreading it further. 5. Use Harmless Offering or Bazaar Trader to give opponents infected or cursed creatures. 6. Protect, recur, and repeat.

Key Synergies: - Mirror Gallery / Mirror Box: Keep multiple Deadpools or legends in play - Helm of the Host / Blade of Selves: Copy Deadpool or cursed creatures during combat - Phyresis / Grafted Exoskeleton: Give Deadpool or his copies Infect - Reanimation: Reanimate Deadpool or high-impact ETB creatures after swaps - Sacrifice Outlets: Viscera Seer, Yawgmoth, Phyrexian Tower for control and recursion

Win Conditions: - Voltron Infect via Blade of Selves or Helm of the Host with Deadpool - Group damage via Warstorm Surge or Flayer of the Hatebound with ETB chains - Death by a thousand curses: Give opponents their own cursed commanders or Deadpool'd creatures until they bleed out

Power Level & Use: - Mid-to-high power - Disrupts commander-based wincons effortlessly - Best in 3–4 player pods with high-value creatures

Weaknesses: - Graveyard hate (plan around Bojuka Bog, Rest in Peace) - Shroud/hexproof commanders (can’t swap with them directly) - Wide boards that don’t rely on singular win conditions

Ideal Opening Hands: - 2+ mana sources - Fast ramp (Sol Ring, Signet, Petal) - One recursion or combo enabler (Blade of Selves, Animate Dead) - Deadpool in hand or in a position to cast early

Final Note: This deck is about psychological warfare as much as mechanical power. You're not just playing Magic—you’re rewriting the rules your opponents thought they were playing by.

Deadpool doesn’t just kill… he makes your opponents kill themselves.
