Oona, Queen of the Fae

This is an artifact combo-control deck that I have been working on for a while with my brother. The game plan is to draw cards for a long time and counter opponent's threats until you are in a safe place to combo out in 1 turn. This deck works best if Oona is casted one time to finish out the game. There are a few combo packages that could be considered (especially a high tide shell) but until our budget increases this mix of combo and control can generally help the deck get there.
This deck wants to start most games by cantripping with cards like Ponder, Preordain, or Brainstorm a lot and playing some artifact ramp. You generally want artifacts that can provide either a lot of mana or colored mana, like Talisman of Dominance or Mana Vault. After establishing a consistent manabase, you will work on controlling the game with some efficient counterspells like Cryptic Command Until you can land a few spells to help you find your combo engine. Great ways of doing this are with Tezzeret the Seeker , Lilliana Vess, Fabricate, or Ad Nauseam. These will either give you some of the last pieces you need or more interaction to stay in the game. You will then focus on comboing out.
  • Skullclamp will help with bitterblossom or with Oona's activated ability for longer games that can drag
  • Necropotence is huge. I generally just activate 20 times and hope to find enough interaction or a combo to close it out.
  • Ad Nauseam Can be used to draw generally 7-10 cards. The curve is a little high to draw most of your deck, but might be reduced more as time goes on.
  • Decree of Pain is pretty meta specific, but can often draw me enough cards to win outright.
  • Windfall is great for early game when you have played enough cantrips and mana rocks. Yawgmoth's Will and Academy Ruins mean we can even wheel away combo pieces just to get them back later.
