Cool deck, have you considered Lashwrithe instead of Nighthowler? It would be so nice on a Nether Traitor

@Memphismaymagic5:

Lol Lashwrithe was actually in my original version, then I was trying Grafted Wargear. Both were effective on the field, but the artifacts don't jive as well with the dredge mechanic without a Buried Ruin or something similar. Nighthowler has better synergy with Crypt of Agadeem and Golgari Thug. It's also nice that when he falls off, he's still a beast. Nighthowler can also ramp extremely quickly with a Grim Haruspex and some dredge cards in the grave, while Lashwrithe can only grow by 1/1 each turn without additional land drops.

Thank you for the suggestion though! :)

I really like it. It was well thought through. I wouldn't have thought that Golgari Thug was a warrior. I like the synergy with Tragic Slip especially. I recently just thought of this. You can bounce back from boardwipes better than most decks. Have you thought of using Drown in Sorrow maybe in the side?

@ The_Dragonmaster:

Thanks! I appreciate that. This will be the 3rd deck I actually build IRL so I have to be really mindful of what cards to pick.

Yeah, Golgari Thug is the backbone of this deck. I use him almost exclusively as a sacrificial lamb of sorts to pump up Crypt of Agadeem, generate tokens, and dig for creatures. My favorite interaction is with Disciple of Bolas looping the 2 of them to pick out my best fighters from the grave and gain some life (this gets ridiculous with Grafted Wargear in play and becomes almost like a cheaper Sphinx's Revelation).

You're totally right about the sweepers. Golgari Thug, Bloodsoaked Champion, and Xathrid Necromancer all help recover from boardwipes (and may actually help my board state out if I have multiple necromancers in play beforehand), but unfortunately I don't have any copies of Drown in Sorrow so I will have to try Mutilate in place (which may work better since T3 is usually reserved for playing the necromancer I need anyways). Thanks for the suggestion!

My first thought was that it feels like it needs some reach in order to close games out. Cards like Foul-Tongue Shriek and Brutal Hordechief.
Some other sac outlets would be good, like Bone Splinters and Altar's Reap.
And some pump, Adaptive Automaton or Obelisk of Urd.
Silver-Inlaid Dagger also seems like it would be very effective.

@shaistyone:

Thanks for the suggestions! You brought up an interesting point about reach. I've included some Profane Command to fill that role.

Honestly, I have 8 reusable sac outlets and between those and combat casualties, I don't think I need anymore.

Pumping power is fine but pumping toughness is not so good here. If I gave all my creatures x/+1 it would turn off my Desert as a way of getting bodies in the grave. Thanks for the thought though.
