I am in love with Throne of Eldrain! A Vorthos to my core, and a lover of fairytales in all their forms, every spoiler has me creating a new deck in inspiration, proxying them out, and testing them relentlessly.

Food feels like one of those aspects of fairy tales that has always been there, but you never noticed before. Here are the synergies I've found.

Once upon a time

Starting a game with a Once Upon a Time feels better than opening with a leyline. This card essentially acts as a first turn mana fixing land, and I've cut four lands accordingly. Late game it filters away lands for combo pieces. Any standard deck with green in it should - in my humble opinion, run 18 lands and 4 Once upon a time.

Food

So let's look at food at its base. Food are artifact tokens, which is less relevant in standard than I'd like - although you could definitely go the direction of all the glitters Secondly Food provides lifegain - which despite typically being dismissed as something that doesn't win games, does win games by allowing you the time to build the resources. I'm a white mage. I know. It also has lots of synergies Ajani's Pridemate and Dawn of Hope are in standard.

I chose to build neither of those decks here - preferring to play with mono green and capitalize on cards that care about food.

Trail of Crumbs , Witch's Oven and Gilded Goose are at the heart of the deck. Feasting Troll King is our tempo and finisher. That is if something else hasn't swept the battlefield first.

Sorcerer's broom

I could go on and on about Sorcerer's Broom , in a deck built around sacrificing permanents this card builds momentum. Sometimes it's a way of storing mana for a future sacrifice to the oven, sometimes it's about building an army to sweep the game.

3 for a 2/1 isn't the best deal, but when it's repeatable it's very well worth it.
