The goal is to just throw threats onto the battlefield until your opponent is unable to answer them all, then use the incremental advantage the planeswalkers give you to grind out a victory or kill them with an ultimate. With 16 planeswalkers in the main deck, Oath of Liliana will generally more than pay for itself with zombie tokens that will protect them well on the ground and winds up being the glue that holds the deck together. Almost every planeswalker (Gideon and 5-mana Liliana excluded) has the ability to remove a creature the turn it comes down, so the deck winds up extremely consistent in a creature-based meta with 27 main deck removal spells if you need them to act as that.
