try using Doubling Season as well, that way you'll have a counter doubling source that can't be targeted by Murder, burn spells and/or board wipes like Wrath of God.

Doubling Season wont go in here. My five mana slot is already pretty crowded and I would just be trading vulnerability to Murder for vulnerability to Golgari Charm or Naturalize

Whoah, awesome deck, I really like how fast you can double counters. You should check out my deck, Undergrowth Canopy.

Winding Constrictor and Hardened Scales aren't as effective as Corpsejack Menace, but they still work. Adding a few of these to the deck would increase the frequency of activating this combo, because you won't need to wait for one of the 4 Corpsejacks. You could settle for one of these alternatives.
Ooze Flux would make your hydras live longer by letting you pay 2 to replace them (without their abilities). You can activate the Ooze's ability in combat when a hydra would die in order to create an equally large creature in its place. This might not work, but I think it's worth a try.
Scavenging Ooze might fit in the sideboard if you struggle against removal or mill decks. This could come in to keep you alive. Sadly, Varolz, the Scar-Striped wouldn't work since half of your creatures have 0 power in the graveyard. Hmph.
