Anthousa, Setessan Hero wouldn't really do anything for me because there's practically no cards that I use to target my own creatures. Grazing Gladehart I've been considering though. It gains me more life than Courser of Kruphix but the Courser's other ability is more useful. I can't really seem to decide on what to cut for Gladehart so for now it will remain in the maybe board.

Praetor's Counsel is another card I'd like to add, but again, nothing is really worth cutting for it. I've decided that Creeping Renaissance is better for me because I can get my lands back twice with it.

If you're having issues with fliers, Hornet Queen is good.

I decided there not enough people in my meta are heavy on flying threats so I haven't included much protection from flying. Thanks though :)

If you're running Hornet Queen, run Frontier Siege as well.

Have you thought about running Glacial Chasm? It's a great way to prevent you from taking any damage. With Crucible of Worlds you can just not pay the upkeep, attack with your creatures, then play the land again during your second main phase. This way you can continue to swing and get all the benefits during your opponents turns. You also run a lot of cards that allow you to play multiple lands a turn so the sac a land drawback really isn't a drawback in this deck. Even without crucible you have many other ways to put this back into play. With Zuran Orb you can even be cute and gain 2 life during the untap step rather than deciding to not pay the upkeep.

Worst case you pay the upkeep if things are going really bad for you and you can't replay it. Keeping you safe from any type of otherwise lethal damage.

I'm actually going to give a big +1 to the Glacial Chasm suggestion. You are running the Burgeoning/Exploration/Manabond package and the Crucible of Worlds/Life from the Loam package, so it would be a great fit. Also very cheap to purchase.

I actually hadn't thought about just not paying Glacial Chasm's upkeep. I'll have to playtest it. Thanks!

still love the deck, and I've been looking at this for more ideas for my own mono-green deck built around Genesis Wave.

speaking of, Genesis Wave could serve well here, laying multiple lands, then blowing them up with the ETB effects of some of your permanents, as well as playing enchantments and artifacts off the wave, in EDH it's just one giant deck filter, and if you can Wave into the eternal witness you can put any other Non-Permanents, or the wave itself, into your hand instead of the grave.

Krosan Colossus or Krosan Cloudscraper would be interesting additions in the way of giant green fatties, Worldspine Wurm should also be considered, since you'll end up with a lot of lands towards the end game no matter how often you're destroying them.

For your flying issue, i'd recommend a Windstorm and/or Spidersilk Net

this is going to sound hella weird, but Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

it makes it possible for fetches and Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse to tap for mana and especially Gaea's Cradle (if you have no dudes), which can be situationally more useful than a tapped land, since you don't seem to unwilling to help others, it might fix an opponent's mana, granting you some small brownie crumbs...

it also allows you to run Maze of Ith, and other lands that would be less good because you can't tap them for normal mana, like Hall of the Bandit Lord

Parallel Lives + Doubling Season are amazing in this deck. I like all the ways you can get your lands back, great ideas implemented here. Glacial Chasm is pretty awesome too :D, +1.

I also second Momentous Fall. It's strictly better than Life's Legacy

June 11, 2015 10:38 p.m.

Steaditup says... #18

It is not strictly better. It costs 2 more. It does more and the additional cost is negligible when it's relevant, but it is not strictly better.

I'll comment on all of your suggestions soon when I have more time.

@steaditup I disagree.

  1. Instant speed
  2. Also gains life
  3. Instant speed
  4. Only more.
  5. Instant speed
  6. is irrelevant in monogreen edh.

Try Life and Limb with some saproling creation like Mycoloth and or sporemond. Those with Doubling Season and Parallel Lives you'll have fun watching them grow out of hand and then you sacrifice them all and now an army of 5/3

Hi, I love this deck and am trying to think about building one for myself as well. May I ask how you deal with infinite combo / reanimation decks? =D

July 19, 2015 12:16 a.m.

CastleSiege says... #23

I don't typically play against infinite combo or reanimation decks. I do have a little bit of removal in here that can be used to help get rid of combo pieces though.

Just played a game against reanimation and combo! ... boy, I had very few ways to respond to what was happening.

Natural Affinity in response to board wipe was great though

Elemental Bond instead of Kavu Lair and the new Nissa seem pretty good. I'm also testing Evolutionary Leap in my list. What about you?
